Shadow Killers Tiger Force

As one of the many Godfrey Ho Ninja Movies, Shadow Killers Tiger Force combines two genres that nobody thought would go together - Ninjas and Women in Prison. Completed in 1986, this movie took scenes from Girls in a Tiger's Cage, an Asian movie set in World War II and combined it with new ninja footage about Lady Ninja. Many young women vanish without a trace, so Lady Ninja (Cora Bentley) takes action and enters the prison camp to find Sylvia. Sylvia (among other female prisoners) has to do slave labor and is set to be sold to a high bidder in the middle East. Lady Ninja is determined to save her from the camp and has to engage in a crazy Ninja fight with Big Bad Davis at the end.

The film provides examples of:

  • Abandoned Warehouse: Lady Ninja's belly dancing scene takes place there. It also contains coffins.
  • Action Girl: Lady Ninja is just as competent with fighting as her male antagonists.
  • Anachronism Stew: The source material is WWII-based, the ninja scenes are clearly 80s, this never seems to fit together.
  • Artistic License – Medicine: Bad guy Mr. Wing needs a blood transfusion and his blood type is given as "Rhesus negative" (nothing more)
  • Batman Gambit: Lady Ninja believes the best way to get into the camp is to just sit on the beach and paint into the sand. This is successful, the Black Ninjas appear merely seconds later and kidnap her.
  • Big Bad: Mr. Davis is the camp's boss and responsible for many women he intends to sell to bidders from the Middle East.
  • Bloodless Carnage: The film is not very brutal and only minimum amounts of blood are shown during the fights.
  • B-Movie: As all Filmark productions, this movie was shot with little to no budget and with completely unknown actors.
  • But Now I Must Go: After Davis is defeated, Lady Ninja just turns away and walks off, not even bothering with Mr. Bentley anymore.
  • Cat Fight: Happens when Sylvia first enters her prison cell.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Mr. Bentley (Sylvia's father) and his sidekick were smart enough to bring a rocket launcher to the endfight with Davis.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Invoked and exploited by lady ninja twice. First time she distracts Mr. Wing so the other prisoners burn him with hot tar, the other time the delivery man so that she can escape the camp in what seems to be the soup.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Lady Ninja and some of her fellow prisoners fight a guarding ninja and try to bury him alive. They only use some shovels and conclude that this will be enough to hide him forever.
  • Girls Behind Bars: Lady Ninja infiltrates a camp of imprisoned women. There's no lesbianism but some cat fights.
  • Gratuitous Ninja: The source material is a WWII women in prison film, so nothing with ninjas you could think.
  • Highly-Visible Ninja: This is played with in a very unique way:
    • Lady Ninja usually relies on stealth, but Davis' ninjas can (at one point at the story) spot her anyway.
    • In the end Davis runs through the city in a black dress completely without regards for stealth and starts a fight with Lady Ninja. Nobody spots them because the city appears to be completely empty.
  • High-Speed Missile Dodge: Davis does the at the end. When he's trailed to by the missile, he makes a dive to avoid it. In the very end, he still gets killed by it.
  • Katanas Are Just Better: Every character of the new footage is highly convinced of this trope. This is subverted by the end, where Mr. Davis is defeated by a blessed missile.
  • Ki Manipulation: In one scence, Mr. Davis can walk on the clouds and use telekinesis. He never uses these powers to his advantage in the end, though.
  • Lady of War: Lady Ninja is very competent at fighting and displays several manners of a proper lady.
  • McNinja: Lady Ninja is clearly American and does not ever try to hide this. All other ninjas seems to be American too.
  • Milking the Giant Cow: Cora Bentley alias Lady Ninja does this a lot to make contact with the source material or to seduce the guards.
  • Ninja Run: Every ninja in the movie does this at any time, good or evil.
  • Obvious Stunt Double: Cora Bentley's stunt double is obviously male and much heavier.
  • Plot Hole: Kidnapped women should not be able to receive mail. See Unstoppable Mailman below.
  • Smoke Out: Both Lady Ninja and Davos do this just before the end fight. Lady Ninja also does it when she delivers Sylvia's letter.
  • Stock Footage: Lots of, all of it from WWII drama Girls in a Tiger's Cage. There are many scenes where both kinds of footage are "interacting" with each other.
  • Super-Persistent Missile: At the movie's climax, Davis is hunted to by a missile that seemingly is in set to ninja target mode. This is justified, as Lady Ninja blesses it with her blood to only destroy evil.
  • Technicolor Ninja: Downplayed, Lady Ninja chooses a light blue ninja dress, the others black dresses.
  • Third Act Stupidity: Mr. Davis accuses Lady Ninja of destroying his "empire" to force her into the final fight. While all that she has done is freeing two of the women, Davis still has his camp and probably hundreds of women. He completely abandons his camp for good and faces off Lady Ninja.
  • Unstoppable Mailman: By the middle of the movie the prison inmates happen to receive mail. How women who were kidnapped by evil Black Ninjas would receive mail is up to the viewers interpretation. Later on, Lady Ninja herself becomes this trope, as she brings Sylvia's (very primitive) letter to her father (Mr. Bentley).
  • Wardens Are Evil: All of the wardens try to make life as hardest as possible for the inmates and torture them a lot for their own pleasure.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: As noted under Third Act Stupidity, after Mr. Davis leaves the camp to fight Lady Ninja to the death, the camp is completely left alone and nor the fate of the remaining women nor that of his guards/ninjas is ever revealed.
  • William Telling: Lady Ninja uses her shurikens to chop of apples from them heads of some mooks to prove to Mr. Bentley that she's the right person for the job of saving Sylvia.
