[[spoiler:At the climax, she ''sees Vee get shot and die''. Granted, Vee was faking it, but her mother didn't know that! Then you remember that Vee's brother died sometime before the story starts...]]

* NotSoDifferent: Vee criticizes Sydney for being promiscuous and for her absent parents. Meanwhile, Vee herself has spent the entire night (and made out several times) with a guy she knows next to nothing about, and her father appears to be completely out of the picture.
** Also, Tommy calls out Sydney early on in the movie for being mean to Vee, only to later on call ''Vee'' out for ''doing the exact same thing'' along with callously revealing that [[spoiler: Ian had been dared into starting the fight between Vee and Sydney]] seemingly out of spite of her choosing another guy over him.
