16-year-old Daniel (Timothée Chalamet) struggles with the sudden death of his father, as a result, his mother sends him to Cape Cod to spend his summer with his aunt Barbara. While in Cape Cod he sells drugs and makes friends with the town delinquent Hunter Strawberry and falls in love with Hunter's sister McKayla, much to the dismay of not only Hunter but McKayla's ex-boyfriend and his goons while falling in love with the daughter of the police sheriff. Soon the drug business becomes overwhelming for Daniel and Hunter with deadly consequences.

  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Subverted with McKayla who has a crush on Daniel, although Daniel isn't particularly a bad boy despite being a drug dealer.

  • Jerkass: Hunter Strawberry is rumored to have this personality.
  • Love Triangle: One between Daniel, McKayla Strawberry and Daniel's other girlfriend Amy.
  • My Sister Is Off-Limits: Hunter tells Daniel this after finding out that Daniel is falling in love with McKayla.
  • Precision F-Strike: There are plenty of them, including from Daniel after finding out that he's going spend the summer with his aunt, one from a seafood restaurant waitress and another from a 7-year-old summer bird.
