Harry Potter and the Deathly Weapons
, also known as Harry Potter With Guns, is a Fan Edit of the first Harry Potter movie Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone that replaces all instances of wands and magic with guns.
The film was created over five years and with over 175 special effects shots, putting intricate effort into replacing every wand in the film with a gun, as well as adding some other details, such as Hogwarts being the NRA and the film taking place in the United States.
While initially made as a joke, the creator intends to use the film to advocate against gun violence and support gun control. The film, due to being an unlicensed reproduction of the original film with some changes, is technically not legal, but the film can still be found across the internet.
Tropes:
- Adaptational Location Change: The movie takes place in the United States rather than Britain.
- Adaptational Villainy: Most of the characters are more brutal than in canon due to using very lethal guns, and are perfectly fine with killing people. Most notably, Hermione murders Neville in cold blood.
- Black Comedy: The movie makes many jokes about guns and gun violence, such as Neville being shot in the head.
- Blood Sport: This film's version of Quidditch has the players shoot at and kill each other.
- Boom, Headshot!:
- Neville is killed by a headshot from Hermione.
- Quirrel survives a self-inflicted shot to the head.
- Darker and Edgier: The first Harry Potter movie certainly didn't feature gun violence and suicide.
- Death by Adaptation:
- Hermione shoots Neville in the head and kills him rather than stunning him like in canon.
- Crabbe commits suicide after Slytherin loses the House Cup.
- Doing In the Wizard: None of the characters use magic and instead only use guns.
- Driven to Suicide:
- Quirrel shoots himself in the head after finding a troll in the dungeon, although he survives this suicide attempt.
- Crabbe shoots himself in the head after finding out Slytherin lost to Gryffindor in the House Cup.
- Fan Edit: It is a version of the first Harry Potter movie with guns edited in, among other changes.
- Gasshole:
- Dumbledore constantly farts throughout the movie.
- The snake Harry speaks to communicates through farts.
- Gun Nut: Every character in the movie is obsessed with guns, using them for everything. It's fitting that Hogwarts is run by the NRA.
- Gun Porn: The entire movie is basically gun porn, with various forms of guns on the screen often.
- Gun Twirling: Hermione twirls her gun after killing Neville.
- More Dakka: Basically every problem in the movie is solved by shooting, including fixing Harry's glasses.
- Shot in the Ass: Dudley gets shot in the ass by Hagrid with a shotgun.
- Would Hurt a Child:
- Hagrid shoots Dudley in the ass with a shotgun just for being annoying.
- Voldemort tries to kill an infant Harry, much like in canon, but this time with a handgun.
