Terje Hansen: How does he choose his victims?
Thomas Rasch: Evil will drive out evil.

Christmas Blood (Norwegian Translation:Yuleblod) is a Norwegian Christmas Slasher Movie by Reinert Kiil.

For 13 years, a murderer in a Santa Claus suit has spread fear and terror among the people of Norway every Christmas Eve, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. On Christmas Eve, 2011, after murdering another family, he's finally caught and arrested, and shot multiple times by Police Detective Thomas Rasch (Stig Henrik Hoff), which he manages to survive.

Fast-forward to 2016, and Sanne (Helene Eidsvåg), Ritika (Haddy Jallow), Elisabeth (Karoline Stemre), Annika (Kylie Stephenson), Katja (Yassmine Johansen), and her boyfriend Christian (Andreas Nonaas) are all going to spend Christmas Eve with their friend Julia Buljo (Marte Sæteren) at her house. It looks to be a wild night of debauchery, drinking, and drama. However, the Santa Claus killer has managed to escape from prison, and is on his way to end their lives. The new detective on the case, Detective Terje Hansen (Sondre Krogtoft Larsen) enlists Rasch to help him bring ol' Slasher Claus back to the big house.

The movie was released on October the 7th, 2017.

Christmas Blood contains examples of:

  • Asshole Victim: In the intro montage of news reports, it's mentioned that all the killer Santa's victims had broken the law at some point.
  • Ax-Crazy: The Santa Killer is a vicious Knight Templar who brutally slaughters his victims.
  • Bad Santa: The killer, naturally.
  • Bait-and-Switch: While Ritika is in the kitchen getting a drink, she turns around and sees someone in a creepy Santa Suit right behind her. She lets out a scream and then shouts at the person, who takes off the Santa mask, revealing it's Elisabeth (rather than the Santa killer, as initially expected).
  • Cop Killer: The Santa Killer slaughters many cops throughout the film.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Terje Hansen has his moments:
Colleague: How is he (Thomas Rasch) ?
Hansen: Apart from the alcohol and the shotgun to my head he was fucking great.
  • Expy: The Santa Killer is basically the Christmas version of Michael Myers. Like Michael a psychiatrist describes him in one scene as "the manifestation of pure evil."
  • Flipping the Bird: During the Montage of the gang partying, Elisabeth flips off someone who drives away on a motorcycle.
  • Group Hug: The Sanne, Ritika, and Annika engage in one with Julie when they reach her house.
  • Handguns: Naturally, the police have these. Rasch uses his pistol to shoot the killer Santa multiple times at the beginning and end of the movie.
  • Hypocrite: The Santa Killer is killing lawbreakers, but is perfectly willing to kill innocent people, including a little girl.
  • In the Back: The Santa Killer attacks Ritika by throwing his axe so it strikes her in the back.
  • Knight Templar: The Santa Killer is dispensing his own form of justice against those who break the law.
  • Mercy Kill : Rasch at the end kills Hansen to spare him from the pain as the Santa Killer left him bleeding to death after seemingly viciously tortured him first.
  • Montage: There's one that cuts between the main group partying, and Terje investigating the killer.
  • Offscreen Teleportation: The killer Santa Claus is capable of this.
  • One-Word Title: With the original Norwegian title, "Yuleblod".
  • Overdrawn at the Blood Bank: When Annika gets chopped in the face with an axe and suspended above Katja and Julie, the two end up drenched in MUCH more blood than should've reasonably come out.
  • Red Is Violent: The killer is dressed in a typical red Santa costume and from we can see he's VERY violent.
  • Signed Language: Elisabeth talks in sign language, being deaf and all.
  • Time Skip: The movie starts on Christmas Eve 2011, which shows the killer claiming his next victims, and then getting caught and gunned down (which he somehow survives). The movie then jumps ahead to Christmas Eve, 2016.
  • Title Drop: When Detective Hansen is looking into the Santa killer, he brings out the original file on him, which is titled "Yuleblod".
  • Title In: New scenes have the location name and date typed in typewriter style.
  • Twisted Christmas: With a Slasher Movie villain on the loose, you can guarantee this trope is a given.
  • Would Hurt a Child: The Santa Killer has killed a little girl before being apprehended.
