The Last Journey of Henry VIII by Aragorn85

- Synopsis: King Henry's death is looming, his throne in the hands of his son but a mysterious figure emerges from the shadows sent to show Henry the errors of his ways. Follow Henry on his journey from his past to his children's future.
- Comments: This fic is one of the best AU fic in the Tudor fandom. Unlike most AUs which focus on Henry's wives, this fic focuses on Henry himself. Guided by a kind spirit, he journeys to the past and future (ala Dicken's 'A Christmas Carol') as he must learn to face his sins in hopes for a brighter future for his children. The only weakness is that Aragorn85 needs to run through this fic with a BETA as his/her command of English is not that great. But if you're willing to slough through it, you'd find that it's one of the most brilliant diamond-in-the-rough you could ever read in the Tudor community.

- Comments: Another Alternate Universe Fic where Anne Boleyn is spared the executioner's block after it's discovered she's pregnant, instead banished to her estate at Pembroke with Elizabeth. Months later, Charles Brandon arrives to keep on an eye on her and determine the parentage of her children, and in a cruel twist of irony, Anne gives birth on the day of his arrival — to four perfectly healthy sons, three of whom clearly resemble Elizabeth, and thus, Henry. The story explores the ramifications of the boys' birth, and Anne's growing relationship with Charles in contrast to her lingering love for Henry, culminating in the ultimate Bittersweet Ending.

- Synopsis: In February 1536, Anne and Henry's marriage ends. Anne leaves court as the Duchess of Pembroke and Henry marries Jane Seymour, but the ties of love and passion refuse to die.
- Comments: An alternate universe set after Anne's second miscarriage where, after being informed by the doctor that she will not be able to conceive again, she approaches Henry and offers him the opportunity to annul their marriage. By agreeing to step aside and not fighting the divorce like Katherine, Anne manages to keep her title, money, and properties (and her life) as well as ensures that Elizabeth's legitimacy and status as princess remains intact. An intriguing and well-written alternate history, the fic is told largely through diary entries and letters (mostly from Henry and Anne, though a few other characters feature as well), and spans several years.

- Comment: A fantastic AU that depicts a world where Anne Boleyn falls in love with Katherine instead of Henry and becomes Henry's titular handmaid (medieval surrogate) at her request. While it explores many of the changes that result from these two nails, the primary focus of the fic is the growing relationship between Anne and Katherine.
