These are recommendations made by Tropers for Fan Fics, all of which have been signed. After a few samples, you will be able to judge whether you might be interested in the 'fic, based on who recommended it. No-name recommendations will be zapped. Nobody would back up the rec. Discussion of the recommendation is welcome on the discussion page. As such discussion is important, do remember to add the discussion page to the watchlist, if need be.
Do warn when a fanfic may head into non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business.

Pairing(s): Some Maka/Soul but its not the focus.
Synopsis: A 'What If' story asking thus: What if MAKA and not Soul received the large debilitating wound in their first battle with Crona and was affected by the Black Blood directly?
Pairings: hints of Soul/Maka, Black☆Star/Tsubaki, one-sided Liz/Kid
Synopsis: "Weapons and Meisters work tirelessly to protect humans from the evils of the world, but what happens when that is no longer enough for the lesser of the four races? Humanity's fear fuels a new push to control those who swear to protect them."
Synopsis: "A series of interludes during Death the Kid's childhood, the bond between father and son, and how Shinigami has learned to cope with his son's eccentricities. First in the Triskelion series."
Synopsis: "Since Death the Kid asked the Thompson Sisters to join him, none of their lives have been the same. From the streets of Brooklyn to Death City, they exist like three points tied together in the center. Second in the Triskelion series."
Synopsis: Giriko, Justin, and Justin's headphones. And everything else in between. A chainsaw comes to terms with some issues in his new home - issues that especially include a certain rival. [Manga-verse; heavy cursing]
Comments: Exactly how to ship two Ax-Crazy freaks who absolutely hate each other.
Synopsis: (Taken from fanfiction summary) AU. My name is Soul Eater Evans, age 15, convicted of a murder that I did not commit. Now I am on the run for one reason only: To prove my innocence to the world. But when I accidentally bump into Maka Albarn - school girl prodigy - on the streets of New York, she just might be the type of detective I need to solve everything. A classic 'who done it' murder mystery/romance fanfic.
Synopsis: Medusa raises her child. 3300 words of solid child abuse, you have been warned. Spoilers up to and including chapter 87 of the manga.
Comments: The second-worst part is that it's absolutely in-character. The absolute worst part is that it's completely canon-compliant. This is how you raise a child to be broken, and gloat about it. Thus, weep.
Synopsis: I've decided that I want to explore the origins of Soul Eater. During the anime I had many questions about him and was surprised to find that even though his name is the title of the show, we learn very little about him therefore, fanfic! Don't be upset that his name is Ethan Evans to begin with. His true name will emerge later on. Please enjoy! Also to be safe I DON'T OWN ANYTHING (taken from the fanfiction.net synopsis)
Comments: Brilliantly written, packs an emotional punch, and has a great story. It tells the story of Soul in a very believable and intriguing way. I love this story, and am here to spread the word.

Pairings: Death the Kid/OC
Synopsis: L.J. (for Life Junior) is living in Life Metropolis with her friends when her mother, Lady Life, announces her arranged engagement to Lord Death's son. She and her bodyguards/weapons are subsequently shipped out to Death City, Nevada. A rule of symmetry: everything has an opposite. Hilarity Ensues.
Synopsis: Set 8 years after the events of the series, the main cast has finally graduated from Shibusen and face their lives in a world free of Arachne. Meanwhile, the next generation of Weapons and Meisters needs to be raised. Both groups will have to come together to fend off the next threat to the school, and the world.
Comments: Currently in progress at 21 chapters as of July 30, 2009.
Pairing(s): Soul/Maka, with minor hints of Black*Star/Tsubaki and Kid/Liz/Patti
Synopsis: Soul has begun to feed off Maka's emotions through a link which has formed between them, so when she is injured, he panics and the situation escalates, calling into question the pair's true feelings for the other.
Comments: 24 chapters and still going as of 19 July 2010
Synopsis:Chrona has been accepted at Shibusen, and is now learning bit by bit what it's like to have friends who care for you. But can someone whose mind has been twisted so hard succeed? Or will she rather succumb to the madness, bringing them down with her?
Synopsis: "Show business isn't all Sunshine and butterflies, sometimes weird blue haired boys break into your house, sometimes the guy next door has a personality that doesn't match his looks, and Maka's life just happens to have both and a whole lot more." Basically, it's AU, but the pairings are just.....essential!!! So it's a shipping fic...so there.
Synopsis: A Meister named Erik is freed from his crystal prison by the Shining Witch Lilith, however, he joins the DWMA in order to atone for the wrongs of his past. Meanwhile, the DWMA faces new threats in the form of something called the "Dark Wavelength", All in all, things aren't at all what they seem...
Synopsis: Feeling partly responsible for damaging Soul's motorcycle, Chrona promises to help pay for the bike's repairs and works at odd jobs to earn enough money. Contains lots of Croma fluff. Includes pizza, Twister, and more! Crona's gender is not specified.
Synopsis: When what starts as a straightforward mission suddenly turns deadly, it's up to the Shibusen group to figure out what the hell is going on. If Kid and Soul manage to get together in the process, well, that's just a bonus. (summary on ff.net)
Comments: Amazingly written, a tearjerker, and blends Soul Eater and Clue together flawlessly.
Synopsis: A good story about Soul, Maka, and their soon-to-be-daughter. Humorous with a touch of seriousness, it is not a cheezy love story.
Comments: Loved it. Great story, feels like it could actually have been written by Atsushi Ōkubo. Features notes at the end of each chapter for things that seem like trivia, or explains content that might be challenged.
Synopsis: "They were resonating when the madness took him. She refused to let go of him, and he clung to her like a drowning man to a life preserver. Well, even life preservers can sink into the churning abyss..."
Comments: A beautifully-executed work that alternatively induces horror, laughter, and a volley or two of profanity. Lialane writes madness effortlessly, cheerfully exploring the far reaches of depravity whilst keeping everyone in-character, fighting, and living with enough laughter for a chance at a happy ending. Of course, if you laugh at the end of chapter 11, you have no soul.
Characters(s): N. Italy, Germany, Death the Kid, Liz Thompson, Patty Thompson, various other characters from either franchise make minor appearances.
Synopsis: It was supposed to be a simple mission: go in, slay the prospective kishin, come straight back out. But when Death the Kid encounters an asymmetrical pasta-loving coward, his life becomes anything but simple. Rated T for violence, swearing and dark themes, but not enough to constitute an M. First in the Soul Heta series.
