Wig Ok Bruh
is a Total Drama fanfiction by Scalene_Waffles (who also wrote Summer Camp Wawanakwa). It follows Owen and Noah, now a married couple, who are expecting a baby and their lives during Noah's pregnancy.
The fic also has two other works; Chris, you Ignorant Slut about their baby shower, and The Cook Our Dinner Episode 100 Spectacular! about the birth of their child. These two fics also are co-written alongside Scalene_Waffles by EarthmanNoEarth.
This fanfic contains examples of:
- Adaptational Gender Identity: All the cast are assumed cisgender in the main show, while here Noah and Cody are transgender men.
- Adaptational Sexuality: While Noah and Owen were Ambiguously Bi in canon, here they are confirmed bisexual men. Eva is also a lesbian.
- Amicable Exes:
- Noah and Emma broke up sometime between Ridonculous Race and the present, but are still friends and hang out.
- Gwen and Duncan also get along well after they broke up. It's explained to be this way after years of properly closing the wound, and also the writer disregarding the World Tour love triangle.
- Beta Couple: Eva and Izzy to Noah and Owen.
- Born in an Elevator: Duncan tries to invoke this by trapping Noah (who at this point is 9 days past his due date) in an elevator to induce labor. It doesn't work.
- Bridal Carry: Throughout the story, Owen is seen carrying Noah around bridal style.
- Feeling the Baby Kick: A Running Gag in Chris You Ignorant Slut is Noah refuting everyone trying to feel the baby kicking during the party. In the last chapter he lets Owen feel the kicks and they both tear up together.
- Flash Forward Fic: Takes place 10 years after Total Drama Island, where Noah and Owen have gone from competing on reality shows to hosting one of their own. It also shows some of the other cast's futures, such as DJ becoming a doctor and Ezekiel being rehabilitated under Eva and Izzy's care.
- Lemony Narrator: The writer interjects in between paragraphs with sarcastic descriptions, lampshadings of possible out of character moments, and the general quality of the writing.The End Note of Chapter 7: Summer Camp Wawanakwa is everything I always want my writing to be. - Maternity Crisis: Gender-inverted. After 10 days past his due date, Noah's water finally breaks in the middle of filming Cook Our Dinner's 100th episode.
- Meaningful Name: All 5 of Noah and Owen's corgis:
- Chewy, what Owen named the komodo dragon in "Got Venom?"
- Coconut, after Mr. Coconut
- Eyeballs, after the Icelandic feast (and where Owen told Noah "there's no one else in the world I'd rather eat eyeballs with").
- London, after the World Tour destination where Noah was eliminated.
- Squeegee, after the squeegee challenge in "Hello and Dubai".
- Milestone Celebration: In-Universe, The Cook Our Dinner Episode 100 Spectacular! is about the 100th episode of ''Cook Our Dinner''.
- Mister Seahorse: Noah is a trans man who's pregnant with his and Owen's child. Alejandro even refers to Noah as a seahorse in chapter 6. Some of the humor of the fic comes from the fact that it's Noah going through the trials of pregnancy.
- Named by the Adaptation: Noah and Owen's last names are the jointed "Susata-McHatch".
- Panicky Expectant Father: Owen during The Cook Our Dinner Episode 100 Spectacular!, both before and after Noah goes into labor. Justified, considering the circumstances.
- Pregnancy Test Plot: Noah takes a pregnancy test after having pregnancy symptoms for a week, and the test is positive.
- Relationship Upgrade: Noah and Owen upgrade from Heterosexual Life-Partners in the show to a married couple.
- Shout-Out: There's a few.
- One of the chapters is called "What Do You Call a One Humped Noah?"
- The writer compares the size of Noah's bump to pears and papayas.
- When Noah's at the end of labor, Izzy gets the Drama Brothers to sing "Bohemian Rhapsody" while he gives birth.
- Show Within a Show: Cook Our Dinner, a cooking competition reality show Noah and Owen host. LeShawna is also the show's producer, and Duncan's one of the cameramen.
- Strawberry Shorthand: Strawberries are Noah's biggest pregnancy craving. In the end, his and Owen's daughter is born with strawberry blonde hair.
- Surprise Pregnancy: The inciting incident of the fic is that Noah discovers he's pregnant unexpectedly and has to cope with the timing.
- Title Drop: Tyler says the fic's title in the last chapter of Chris You Ignorant Slut. Noah also calls Chris an ignorant slut in the last line.
- Token Houseguest: Duncan crashes on Noah and Owen's couch in chapter 3 and becomes a larger character (although Noah sees him more as The Thing that Would Not Leave).
- Wacky Cravings: In most of the chapters Noah's eating strawberries. Owen recalls one time they got so bad it led Noah to eating wild strawberries (and subsequently getting food poisoning).
- The thing that confirms to Noah that he's pregnant is when he starts eating Owen's breakfast menagerie hash brown.
- Wacky Marriage Proposal: Izzy really decided the best time to propose to Eva was right before their friend was being wheeled into the delivery room to have a baby.
- Written-In Infirmity: In-universe with Noah's pregnancy during his and Owen's cooking competition show.
