The Total Cousins Series is a trilogy by SideshowJazz1. When Chris is worrying that Total Drama Action will be a rehash of the first season, his fifteen-year-old cousin Antonia calls, and Chris impulsively asks her if she'd like to be a contestant. Toni excitedly agrees. All three fics have been completed as of June 2023.
There are three stories in the series:
Total Cousins Action
: Takes place during Total Drama Action. Toni is a contestant on the show's second season. It's time to make friends, rivals, enemies and do her best to win that title - all while battling movie genres!
Total Cousins World Tour: After Toni's success in Total Drama Action, the producers know that letting her compete again is most definitely not on the cards. But she got them ratings. So this time, she's taking the trip around the world as Chris' co-host. With two new competitors and a whole lot more drama, can Toni continue to stir things up while she's hosting?
Total Not Cousins Revenge Of The Island: Chris has accepted a movie deal this summer, and after World Tour, Toni was the obvious choice to host a half-length season with thirteen new contestants. Toni's excited to host on her own for the first time, but it's not that simple. For one thing, she didn't expect to fall in love with one of the competitors when she got there...
This trilogy contains examples of:
- Accidental Adultery: Not real adultery, but Toni and Duncan kiss a few times, but only because they were given a scene where they were asked as actors to make out. They both try to convince themselves that Courtney won't hold it against them. She does. Crosses over with Mistaken for Cheating (see below).
- Action Girl: Toni, although she does end up losing a wrestling match with Courtney. This kind of behaviour is the reason she gets so friendly with Jo.
- And the Adventure Continues: The first two both end on this note to set up the sequel. Word of God says that the sequel wasn't planned as there was no way Toni would be allowed to compete twice, but ended up finding a way around that after people asked for a sequel.
- Birds of a Feather: Courtney thinks that Duncan may be dating Toni partly due to that. However, their relationship is purely friendship.
- Clashing Cousins: Chris and Toni's relationship to a T.
- False Friend: The second one has Alejandro be this to almost everyone, but Toni doesn't find out until the end what he really thinks of her. Up until this point, Toni knew Alejandro was evil but was convinced that he wouldn't have made an effort with her unless he actually liked her, since she couldn't be eliminated. It turns out he was hoping he'd get an advantage in the game if he got in good with one of the hosts.
- Hidden Disdain Reveal: Toni does not find it easy to hide her jealousy towards Zoey, but the full-on reveal only confirms what she's suspected.
- Toni only finds out how much she annoys Alejandro from a confessional where he complains about her.
- I Just Want to Have Friends: Toni notices early on that Zoey has an overwhelming vibe of this. At first she finds it hard to resist that, but later, she starts to find it more irritating.
- Insufferable Genius: Harold often comes off as this, and boy does it annoy everyone. Averted with Cameron, who Toni actually finds endearing despite also having a wealth of knowledge.
- Lovable Alpha Bitch: Toni discovers that Dakota is rather nice underneath her famemongering and paparazzi obsession, and is more Spoiled Sweet than she thought.
- Love Triangle: The third story puts Toni in an awkward position when she falls for Mike, despite knowing that he's interested in Zoey.
- Messy Hair: Toni constantly complains about the fact that no matter what she does to her hair, it tangles.
- Anne Maria insists on trying a few things with Toni's hair, and she ends up wearing it in a high ponytail for most of the season. Dakota later suggests she try wearing it in double buns, which she likes better and decides to wear when the season's over (she's not allowed to change her hairstyle twice in one season).
- Mistaken for Cheating: Courtney convinces herself that the makeout scene during the horror movie challenge between her boyfriend and Toni was real, and refuses to believe otherwise, even when every other contestant on the film lot tells her that Duncan and Toni never hooked up.
- Only Known by Their Nickname: After the first two or three chapters of the first one, the fact that Toni is short for Antonia never comes up.
- Perky Goth: Dakota suggests Toni could rock a look in this style, with lots of pink as well as the black she already favours.
- Pet the Dog: After the disaster movie challenge, Chris not only gives the winners chips and pop, but also red velvet cupcakes, remembering that they're Toni's favourite. She sincerely thanks him.
- Secret-Keeper: After Toni sees Mike confess about his alters in the confessional, she asks him questions so she can support him best, but promises to keep it a secret until he's ready to tell others. She eventually breaks her silence by telling Zoey that Mike wants to say something as she feels Zoey deserves to know.
- Strong Family Resemblance: Toni looks like a female teenage version of Chris, drawing particular attention to the McLean smile.
- Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: As team leader, Toni sometimes invokes this as she sees herself as team leader and that it's her duty to force Duncan to leave Harold alone and to tell Harold to stop showing off and pushing himself forward.
