The New Noah
is a Total Drama fanfiction created by user NoH8-Make-a-Rainbow on FanFiction.Net. The story is inspired by a headcanon co-created with give-cody-a-kiss that details how Noah hid a big secret from everyone while filming Total Drama, that his parents died and he joined the show in an attempt to pause his grief that he couldn't handle.
The New Noah contains examples of:
- Band of Relatives: In Chapter 10, Noah's sister Valerie talks about how she's in a band with their brother.
- Bi-Wildered: In Chapter 5, Cody explains to Noah that he's still figuring out whether he's gay or bisexual.
- Break-Up/Make-Up Scenario: In Chapter 28, Nicole accidentally lets it slip before she's ready to say anything that her and Trent are going to study abroad in Australia for a semester. This makes Noah upsets and he spirals into a rant on how Nicole never tells him anything anymore. Nicole says that they no longer need to be the twins who do and say everything together, and they argue until Noah crosses a line and says that Nicole recovered better from their parents' death because she wasn't there the day they died. This causes Nicole to stay with their older brother while she is home from university, and she deflects all of his phone calls.
- In Chapter 29, Nicole finally forgives Noah in the hospital waiting room after meeting their newest niece who was just born that night.
- Broken Bird: The death of Noah's parents makes him try to find an opportunity to escape his life that's changed so dramatically, and he goes onto Total Drama to avoid grieving their death. Noah becomes numb to his feelings, gets angry easily, and shuts out most of his family and their attempts to get him to go back to what he was passionate about, art.
- Coming-Out Story: Noah has only come out to three people in his life — his sister and his parents. When he begins to go out with Cody, he comes out to the rest of his family, along with the rest of the Drama Brothers.
- Foreshadowing: In Chapter 5, Nicole is seen chatting with Trent. In chapter 6, the story is time skipped to a month later. She is coming home from university for winter break, and Cody accidentally mentions that he thought she'd be with Trent. Noah is confused on this and she leaves before she can explain herself.
- In chapter 7, Nicole confesses that she has been seeing Trent for a month and that they are boyfriend and girlfriend.
- Four-Man Band: The Drama Brothers, a band established during Celebrity Manhunt between Cody, Trent, Justin, and Harold. During the story, Noah and Nicole go on tour with them, and after Justin quits the band,
- Identical Twin Mistake: In Chapter 10, Noah's older brother Nathan poses as his twin brother Joshua to confuse Trent and Cody, who had never met him before.
- In the same chapter, the narrator describes a time when Nathan pulled the same trick on Bethany to make her believe that he was Joshua, which was her first encounter with Nathan.
- Moving Beyond Bereavement: Noah must stop running from his grief towards his parents' death and his twin sister, Nicole, convinces him to see a therapist in chapter 7.
- Successful Sibling Syndrome: Nicole and Noah are compared to each other many times by other family members.
- In Chapter 3, Joshua tells Noah to 'just look at Nicole' when he pleads for him to go to therapy over his grief of their parents.
- In Chapter 10, a family member tells him something similar, saying that Nicole is off on her own in university and has 'moved on' unlike him, who is still living with Joshua and Bethany at 20.
- The Show Must Go On: In Chapter 17, the Drama Brothers' opening act for their summer tour, Yazmin, comes down with food poisoning, and this leads to Nicole and Noah putting together a setlist for a last-minute opening act for them.
- In Chapter 19, after Justin is kicked out of the band mid-tour, Noah is nominated to replace him for the duration of the tour, which he does.
- The Trickster: In Chapter 10, the audience is introduced to Noah's quint siblings — Valerie, Blair, Gerard, Gavin, and Bryson. The five of them typically spend every family Christmas party doing an annual prank.
- Valerie explains that this year's Christmas party prank involves messing with their Aunt Amelia's wine and changing it with colored water to see if she'll get a placebo effect.
- Noah appears upset when they bring up the annual prank and Gerard tells him to 'lighten up', since the fire department isn't being called this year. Noah recalls that the said prank nearly killed their Aunt Amelia's dog, and his brother Gavin seems to be unphased as he explains that the dog died of old age six months later.
- Towards the end of Chapter 10, the quints throw a cold bucket of water over their cousin Joan, who Noah deemed was being homophobic towards him due to her disinterest in dating Cody.
- Ruptured Appendix: In chapter 24, Nicole isn't feeling well and hasn't been for a few days. Her symptoms get worse and she faints in the middle of the hallways at her university. It turns out she had a ruptured appendix that requires immediate surgery.
- "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue: In the final chapter of The New Noah, we meet with Noah, Cody, Trent, and Nicole in October 2022, five years later. Noah is a professional artist and is receiving a Sobey Art Award, Cody is a sound engineer, and Nicole and Trent got married and had a child.
