Noah, the Schemer
, written by Stupidity Vaccine, is an ongoing Total Drama fanfiction. The plot is a slight schism in the World Tour timeline: in his last few minutes on the show, Noah manages to find the inspiration to take action and escape elimination. What will happen with Noah at the helm of Team Chris? How will the season progress? Could anything else happen? And how long can the lazy bookworm escape misfortune?
Noah, the Schemer contains examples of:
- Accidental Truth: Although he didn't know the actual details and only said it to get Tyler on his side, Noah is completely correct when he points out that Alejandro was responsible for Lindsay's elimination.
- Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In the show, Duncan and Cody repeatedly conflict with each other due to Cody being jealous that Duncan got together with Gwen, and Duncan being annoyed with Cody's pranks towards him. Here, while Cody is clearly upset that he lost another chance at Gwen, he doesn't hold any grudges against Duncan for it, and even considered allying with him against Courtney.
- Ascended Extra: Noah himself is bumped up to the main protagonist of the season, instead of being eliminated halfway though as he was in canon. This also extends to Tyler and Ezekiel, both of whom get to last longer as a result of Noah's actions. Owen also lasts an episode longer than in canon.
- Back for the Dead: Bridgette is brought back during the Africa challenge, but ultimately loses her chance to rejoin the competition and is forced out by the end of the chapter.
- Birthday Chapter: The "Chinese Fake-Out" chapter takes place on Noah's birthday. At the end of the chapter, he loses Owen and Sierra, his two only allies up to that point.
- Bears Are Bad News: Chris attempts to invoke this with Bruno. However, Bridgette continuously assures and proves that Bruno is not a case of this.
- Breaking the Fellowship: Noah attempts to do this with Alejandro's "alliance" after the challenge at the Serengeti, trying to break the trust that Heather and Tyler have in Alejandro. Something that has been undermined by Bridgette's brief return to the competition alongside Bruno.
- The Bus Came Back: After being eliminated, Alejandro returns to the show upon winning another chance on the aftermath.
- Demoted to Extra:
- Face Death with Dignity: Unlike canon, both Gwen and Duncan decide to vote themselves off out of guilt for what they've done to Courtney and even manage to take the Drop of Shame correctly like how Noah did in canon.
- Fix Fic: Although the author has admitted to liking canon World Tour, the fic nonetheless heavily tweaks or outright removes several of the contested elements about the season like Ezekiel's feralization and the Love Triangle between Duncan, Gwen and Courtney.
- For Want Of A Nail: What if Noah got the idea to actually "scheme" during "I See London" and manipulated his team into voting off Alejandro instead?
- Friend to All Living Things: Ezekiel shows himself as this, helping an emu with its chicks in the Outback and being fairly friendly to the animals in the Serengeti. This, alongside his surprising physical prowess gets him eliminated.
- From Bad to Worse: Noah when it came to allies, he loses Owen and Sierra in China (to elimination and injury, respectively), Ezekiel in the Serengeti, and his interactions with Tyler are constantly on a thin line following the merge.
- Guile Hero: Lacking any real physical skills, Noah gets further into the game by using his cunning and manipulation skills to create conflicts between the other contestants. The defining decision is him tricking Tyler into voting off Alejandro by telling him that Alejandro manipulated the game to get rid of Lindsay (to get to DJ), which comes back to bite him later on.
- Insane Troll Logic: Chris uses this as a means of getting around the rules to get Team Chris is 5x Hot to the elimination ceremony in London, which is the fic's way of creating the elimination between Noah and Alejandro in the first place.
- Locked Out of the Loop: Upon his return to the competition, Ezekiel is unaware of the Love Triangle mess that occurred in London and has to be filled in by the rest of Team Amazon. Ditto for Alejandro's return, as Ezekiel actually forgot who he was altogether.
- Oh, Crap!:
- Noah on Al's return at Niagra Falls, which proves meaningful after he's very nearly eliminated later on.
- Al has this reaction after he's forced to renege on a deal with Heather after Ezekiel is eliminated.
- Portal Door: Heather stumbles upon a portal in "The Ex Files" that almost sucks her into the Total Dramarama universe.
- Replacement Goldfish: After Cody's elimination, Noah causes Sierra to gravitate towards him by feigning concern for her.
- Spanner in the Works: Bridgette's appearance in the Serengeti plants the seeds for the unravelling of Alejandro's carefully-laid manipulations, even after he wins that particular challenge.
- The Stations of the Canon: The songs remain pretty much the same as they were from the original, with the contestants switched around to match the elimination order and the antics of the episode. Other smaller examples are also present throughout the fic.
- Terms of Endangerment: Duncan calls Noah "little buddy" throughout the fic, after finding out that's Owen's nickname for him.
- This Is Gonna Suck: Noah has this reaction when he figures out that Sierra is temporarily using him as a coping mechanism to deal with Cody's elimination. He plays along so as to secure her vote.
- What If?: This shows what happens if Noah convinced Tyler to vote for Alejandro instead of him.
