After the events of Iron Blooded Orphans, the soul of Gjallarhorn's founder, Agnika Kaieru, is found to be one with his old Gundam, the Bael Custos. After being brought up to speed on the events that occured after his death, Agnika decides to travel the cosmos to protect those who can't protect themselves and ends up on Remnant, where he comes to meet the members of Team RWBY and their allies along with their mortal enemy, the Grimm and their master Salem.

At 57 chapters and 200,187 words, it is now complete.

This fic displays examples of:

  • Abled in the Adaptation: Thanks to Amber killing Cinder and regaining her full power, she is much more prominent in the story and also much more proficient with her Maiden powers than in canon.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Thank to Agnika saving the lives of Weiss and her mother Willow when they were held hostage by the White Fang and imparting sage advice to Weiss, Weiss is much less pompous than canon.
  • Ascended Demon: Agnika's motif, combined with Noble Bird of Prey after receiving upgrades from Dr. Polendina during his repairs.
  • Ascended Extra: In canon, Amber was mostly a Living Macguffin and was never very prominent in the story. Here, she is one of the allies of the heroes and plays a part in the battles to come against the Grimm.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Agnika is instantly able to figure out that Emerald's illusion Semblance only works on organic minds and not on machines during the Curb-Stomp Battle he dishes out to Cinder and company.
  • The Berserker: In contrast with Agnika's refined and graceful techniques, Mikazuki's fighting style revolves around bludgeoning his foes into submission with no regard for finesse or style.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Mikazuki arrives on Remnant just in time to save Agnika from being killed by the Andras the second time it appears and drive it off.
  • Brain Uploading: The end-result of an Alaya-Vijnana pilot having undergone multiple surgeries and bonding with their Gundam Frame to such a heavy extent results in their soul transcending into the Gundam they pilot upon death should they die while still hooked up to their Mobile Suit, as shown with Agnika Kaieru and Mikazuki Augus.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Cinder, being Cinder, believes she can take on Agnika with her minions and win despite the fact that Agnika has dismantled her plans with ridiculous ease. Their fight against Agnika proves otherwise.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Agnika dishes out one for Cinder and her minions when they take him on.
  • Death by Adaptation:
  • Demoted to Extra: Cinder, Mercury, and Emerald are swiftly taken out of the story after being subject to a Curb-Stomp Battle by Agnika. Roman Torchwick and Neopolitan are also much less prominent in the story and aren't even mentioned.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: Adam Taurus is Impaled with Extreme Prejudice by the tail spikes of Mikazuki's Gundam Barbatos here after his failed attempt to usurp Sienna Khan's position as leader of the White Fang here.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Thanks to the efforts of the protagonists, the Grimm are no longer a major threat and Remnant gets to enjoy true peace and unity. Agnika and Mikazuki also get to become human once more and spend their lives with Weiss and Yang respectively, and the Faunus finally gain equality thanks to the efforts of Blake.
  • Face–Monster Turn: Weiss is corrupted into an unwilling minion of the Andras due to its Grimm powers. It requires Agnika utilizing his Semblance to purify all Grimm traces from her and reverse the aforementioned turn.
  • Fling a Light into the Future: Ultimately, Gjallarhorn agreeing to Agnikas' request to send him into deep space to try finding other life to save since he knew Gjallarhorn was in good hands again had positive consequences for the people of Remnant a century later. Elevated further when several years after Agnikas' departure, they sent Mikazuki after him in a ship loaded with plenty of spare parts to repair both of their Gundam bodies.
  • I Choose to Stay: Weiss Schnee pulls this on her father Jacques after he tries to force her to return home to Atlas thanks to the Positive Friend Influence of Agnika and Team RWBY. She even slaps the bastard in the face for good measure!
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Mikazuki kills Adam with his mech's Pile Bunker after breaking his legs with his mace and foiling his coup within the White Fang.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Yang still loses her arm to Adam even after the Fall of Beacon is averted by Agnika's actions.
  • It Can Think: Since Salem gave the Andras a limited measure of sentience to enable it to adapt to and counter Agnika's skillset, it inadvertently leads to the Andras becoming fully sentient over time, much to Salem's detriment.
  • Jerkass Realization: Getting beaten by Mikazuki and being called out for her callousness by Taiyang, Qrow, Weiss, and Yang does wonders for Raven's attitude and helps her be a somewhat nicer person than canon.
  • Keystone Army: The Grimm are left disorganized after the death of the Andras, becoming easy pickings for huntsmen.
  • Meaningful Name: Grimm Andras is named after eponymous Grand Marquis of Hell from the Ars Goetia who's said to sow discord among men and sometimes kill whomever summons him. True-to-form, the Andras eventually betrays Salem and destroys her followers before assuming command of the creatures of Grimm.
  • Mini-Mecha: Agnika and Mikazuki's mech bodies are effectively miniature human-sized versions of their old Gundams.
  • Noble Wolf: Mikazuki's primary motif, with shades of Savage Wolf thanks to his relentless fighting style.
  • Nominal Hero: Raven may be nicer than canon, but that doesn't mean she really cares about what others think of her actions nor how the world might be faring.
  • No-Sell: Agnika proves immune to Emerald's illusory Semblance due to the mechanical nature of his robotic body.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: When Agnika tells Team RWBY about his past and the history of Earth, he mentions that just because his world did not have Faunus didn't mean that it didn't have discrimination, as the condition of Mars and its people before it gained independence could attest to.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: While its' indeed been a whole century since leaving the Solar System and arriving at Remnant, Mikazuki is still downtrodden that both Atra and their son Akatsuki are long dead.
  • Outside-Context Problem: For Salem and her forces, Agnika counts as one thanks to his presence being a Spanner in the Works for their plans. It leads to Salem creating the Andras to counter him, not that it helps her.
  • Positive Friend Influence: In addition to Weiss, Agnika also helps Blake come to terms with her past as a White Fang member much earlier than canon and also accept her true identity as a Faunus.
    • Team RWBY helps Mikazuki by open up and be more emotional.
  • Shout-Out: The Andras and its Grimm lieutenants are all references to Gundam suits from Mobile Suit Gundam:
    • The Andras is stated by the author to have a body similar to that of the Gundam Kimaris Valdar and a head reminiscent of that from the Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex
    • The Hashmal, Gusion, Flauros, and Kimaris are all Grimm versions of their namesake Gundams.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Compared to Ironwood, who's quite leery regarding Agnika, Ozpin is willing to work with Agnika and also make sure that Ironwood doesn't fly off the handle.
  • Rewarded as a Traitor Deserves: Raven kills Lionheart for being a traitorous, self-serving coward after breaking to him the news of Salem's death. She then proceeds to make it look like he hung himself in shame and left an apology note beforehand.
  • The Nicknamer: Still a trait of Mikazuki's even after he died and bonded his soul with his Gundam.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Since Cinder is dead, Amber, Pyrrha, Penny and Vernal survive and outlive their canon counterparts.
  • The Starscream: The Andras kills Salem after deciding it has enough of being her minion and takes over command of the Grimm.
  • The Stations of the Canon: Let's just say that canon is chucked out of the window completely here in this fic, if Cinder and Salem getting killed off is any indication.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Julieta sends with Mika a package containing a photograph of his family: Kudelia, Atra, and his son Akatsuki.
  • Training from Hell: Downplayed. Even while Team RWBY are training with Agnika, they don't have to worry about serious injury.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Guaranteed when you have a legendary Gundam pilot who fought in the Calamity War and established Gjallarhorn as your mentor in the case of Teams RWBY and JNPR.
  • Undying Loyalty: Postmortem example. Mikazuki still follows Orga Itsuka's final order to the letter even centuries after Orga's death.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: The first thing the Andras does with its newfound power over the Grimm is to order them to kill Watts, Tyrian, and Hazel after killing Salem since they're effectively dead weight now that Salem's out of the picture.
