Everything is normal in Adventure Bay. However, unknown to the PAW Patrol, a new enemy is making her debut and she has big plans for Adventure Bay, and most of all, the PAW Patrol themselves.

- All for Nothing: In the end, Marshall's truck being rebuilt by the others and his hooking up with Everest turn out to amount to nothing with the death of the former. The above also means that Ryder's plan to catch Ember was similarly all for nothing.
- The Bad Guy Wins: In the end, Ember's plan to kill Marshall goes off completely without a hitch, complete with Chase committing suicide at the same time as a bonus.
- Downer Ending: Ember succeeds in killing Marshall, Chase dies with him, and she gets away with a brainwashed Katie in tow.
- Invincible Villain: Ember always manages to make up a new plan on the fly or pull out a new gadget of some kind to get one over on the Paw Patrol, and in the end she escapes successful and alive, the Paw Patrol failing to notch so much as a single victory against her.
- Karma Houdini: Ember escapes without a scratch on her, despite the sheer volume of atrocities that she's committed. She even manages to kill both Marshall and Chase as added insult to injury.
- Out-Gambitted: Happens a lot in the story - Every time the pups succeed even slightly, Ember always gets some kind of new device or plan, thwarting the pups.
- Sequel Hook: Although Ember escapes with Katie and having killed both Chase and Marshall, there's still hope for Ryder and the remaining pups to get their friends back.
