Super Smash Bros: The Animated Series
is a series of crossover fanfics written by Quartz2006, mixing characters from Super Smash Bros., Batman: The Animated Series, Dragon Ball Z, Coco, Attack on Titan, and Super Wings. They're meant to serve as sequels to Kirby: Welcome to Smash Bros. It follows the adventures of the Smashers in a World Gone Mad, where just about everyone (except Lucina) is some flavor of crazy, even though no one seems to realize it.
These fics provide examples of:
- Attempted Rape: Original Character Mike Washer tries to rape Jigglypuff. Making things worse is that he's her father.
- Butt-Monkey: Pit is constantly insulted, degraded, and outright attacked by the other characters for no other reason than because he's stupid.
- Double Standard: Rape, Male on Male: Whenever a man is shown raping a woman in the series, it's treated as heinous. In contrast, the same can't be said for when a man is shown raping another man. To give some examples:
- People dislike Fox and Falco's relationship for being homosexual and not because they are acting under a Love Potion.
- Chrom pretty much forces Marth into a relationship with him, even though he's married to Female Robin. Lucina is the only one who calls him out on this.
- Mega Man and Zero start dating, even though Zero raped Mega Man's cousin and gave a rather flimsy excuse for it.
- Freudian Excuse: Meta Knight's reason for why he kills people, robs houses, and is in general the utter worst? He got bullied in Camp Warrior.
- Jerkass: Meta Knight is a controlling asshole at best, like when he was vomiting as Fox and Falco kiss; and a downright monster at worst, such as when he almost cuts Batman's neck and threatens to kill him because Batgirl had startled Kirby. He treats his boyfriend Kirby slightly better than he treats most people, but that's about it.
- Massively Multiplayer Crossover: While it's mainly a Super Smash Bros. fanfic, it also crosses over with Batman: The Animated Series, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Super Wings, and even Coco.
- Only Sane Man: While she doesn't appear very often, Lucina definitely makes sure to call out all the worst aspects of the series, even if she's treated as being in the wrong for doing so.
- Spotlight-Stealing Squad: While it started out as a Super Smash Bros. Series Fic, the crossover characters— especially the ones from Batman and Attack on Titan —would go on to steal the thunder by the end.
- Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: The oldest member of the Best Friends Forever is 14, but given how casually they bring up rape, murder, and violence, you'd be forgiven for not knowing.
