A mad scientist from Earth by the name of Dr. Robotnik has been staging a robot conquest of the planet Mobius. Sonic a young hedgehog who was given super speed joins up with the Freedom Fighters who are determined to take down the Eggman Empire.
Sonic Chronicles is a Sonic the Hedgehog fanfic series written by cornholio4, and can be read on Fanfiction Dot Net here
. Like other fics, it is a reboot of the general story taking cues from the different Sonic media, mostly from Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM) and Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics).
This fanfic provides examples of:
- 0% Approval Rating: Robotnik doesn’t even have many fans in his own Empire, it is only out of fear and a thirst for power that most serves him.
- Ascended Extra: Tig Stripe and Trey Scales were only minor figures in the backstory for the Archie Comics. Here they are not only alive in present day, but Tig is commanding over the Knothole Kingdom’s Freedom Fighters before his death.
- Authority in Name Only: Scales fully admits his promised position as Baron of Mobotropolips, the crown city of the Eggman Empire will be basically this but he doesn’t care.
- Big Bad: Robotnik has launched a takeover of Mobius and the Freedom Fighters are fighting to take him down.
- Composite Character: Robotnik in his early days on Earth had his appearance modelled after his appearance from Sonic the Hedgehog (2020). He grows into a more recognisable bald headed cyborg form modelled after his appearance from Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM). His Empire in that he has yet to conquer the entirely of Mobius and he has barons leading over his conquered territories, is reminiscent of the Post-SGW Eggman Empire.
- The Dreaded: Shortfuse the Cybernik, Robotik’s most dangerous soldier. When he is sent on a mission by Robotnik, he will destroy anyone in his way regardless if they are servants of the Eggman Empire. He is also used to execute prisoners and those who fail him, Sally shows great terror and warns Sonic to take him seriously.
- Hope Bringer: After humiliating Robotnik on a live broadcast, Sonic has become one to the Freedom Fighters and Mobius in general.
- Parental Substitute: Sonic says that growing up on the island, NICOLE was his and Tails’ only parental figure.
- Spared by the Adaptation: Tig Stripe and Trey Scales are still around in present day. At least until Tig is killed by Nick and Robotnik has Trey killed by Shortfuse in anger over his plan leading to him being humiliated in front of his Empire.
- Ultimate Universe: Like other fics such as Tales of Sonic the Hedgehog, this story serves as one to the Sonic mythology.
