Go To

Out of Place,Out of Time is a crossover Fanfic by The Sauce Boss, combining universes of Rooster Teeth's RWBY and Bethesda's Fallout 4 . It follows the journey of Wayne Stafford, the Sole Survivor, trapped on Remnant by a malfunctioning Institute teleportation node, as he makes alliances with some shady figures in order to make his way back to the Commonwealth.

It is also hosted on SpaceBattles here.

Out of Place, Out of Time provides examples of:

  • Action Girl: Considering RWBY 's setting, there's plenty.
  • Addiction-Powered: Wayne starts the story addicted to multiple chems, and displays a staggeringly high pain tolerance, lightning quick reaction speed, and superhuman strength. He's able to match the White Fang Lieutenant without an Aura or body armor. After being forced on the wagon, he loses out on most of this ability.
  • Aliens Speaking English: Everyone speaks perfect English.
  • Badass Normal: Wayne and Liam are baseline humans with little going for them other than post-apocalyptic technology. The former manages to, within the span of a week, kill three thugs without taking a single scratch, beat the White Fang Lieutenant in single combat and clear the Beacon CCT tower of Atlesian troops during the Beacon infiltration. The latter singlehandedly kills an impressive amount of Grimm during the Breach.
  • Brought Down to Badass: Even without his chems Wayne is able to take down an Atlesian Airship single-handedly.
  • Came from the Sky: How Liam, The Lone Wanderer appears.
  • Chance Meeting Between Antagonists: While attempting to infiltrate Beacon Academy prior to the dance and locate Blake Belladonna on the White Fang's behalf, Wayne encounters Liam.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: At no point do any of the Fallout protagonists use V.A.T.S.
  • Spanner in the Works: Due to being captured during the Beacon infiltration, Wayne forces the villains to start the Breach even earlier than they did in canon. This also leads to an increase in Atlesian security in Vale. As a result, the Ace Ops and Watts appear much earlier than they did in canon.
  • Villain Protagonist: Wayne ends up encountering the White Fang and its agents early in the story, and by the end of the prologue, he's become a member of Salem's faction.
