Never Alone is a Puella Magi Madoka Magica fanfiction.
The premise itself is simple. After Walpurgisnacht destroys Mitakihara, Homura reveals about her time-travelling powers to Madoka before rewinding time once again. Before such could happen, though, Madoka makes a wish to Kyubey.
Her wish is to keep her memories. And after this act, the entire timeline changed. If it's either for the better or the worst, it has yet to be determined.

This fic contains example of the following tropes:
- Adaptational Badass:
- Madoka becomes a magical girl literally the same day she and Sayaka are rescued by Mami.
- All of the protagonists get this at one point, some before others. Justified because fusing with their witches has greatly raised their powers.
- Adapted Out: All the canon witches except for Walpurgisnacht, Charlotte, Kriemhild Gretchen, Candeloro, Oktavia, Ophelia and Homulilly. Although Gertrud is mentioned once by Homura (though not by name).
- Adaptation Deviation:
- Instead of trying to kill her friends, Mami starts to laugh madly when she finds out how witches are created.
- Kyosuke's injury has been changed to a terminal disease.
According to the author, it's because he thought it would have a bigger effect on Sayaka.
- Adaptation Expansion: Mami's parents' death and her forming a contract with Kyubey are shown in a flashback. And they are even more tragic than canon.
- Big Damn Heroes:
- Madoka manages to save Mami literally one second before Charlotte could kill her.
- Later, Homura is rescued from a smart witch by Sayaka.
- Breather Episode: Chapter 17 has Madoka and Homura hanging out with each other with no dangerous event happening. Even the title is literally 'Take a Break'.
- Cliffhanger:
- Chapter 7 ends with Mami about to be killed by Charlotte.
- Chapter 10's ending has Homura about to be killed by an intelligent witch.
- Downer Beginning: Mitakihara has been destroyed, everyone but Madoka and Homura is dead and Walpurgisnacht is about to erase everything, with Madoka wishing to keep her memories shortly before Homura rewinds time. And that's the first chapter.
- Demoted to Extra: After the first few chapters, Kyubey pretty much disappears and appears only to retrieve the grief seeds from the girls. Lampshaded as Homura is worried that he started to appear less and less.
- Enemy Without: How Oktavia describes Witches in general, as everyone has them made of their individual darknesses.
- For Want Of A Nail: Madoka brings this like a storm since she has all of her memories from the previous timeline. Th very first example is that she becomes a magical girl literally the same day Kyubey asks her to make a contract. And this also causes a chain reaction that changes a lot of things.
- I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Sayaka wants to feel like this towards Kyosuke but she struggle to accept it. Once she makes her wish, she starts to actually believe it.
- Mythology Gag: At one point, when Mami and Sayaka are fighting in a barrier, the latter mentions that perhaps if she didn't fuse with her witch, she might have been the weakest magical girl of their group.
- Rage Breaking Point: Madoka outright screams at Charlotte to leave Mami alone before engaging her.
- Shout-Out:
- During the monologue at the end of Chapter 18, right after Kyoko turned into a witch, the author wrote 'It's dark. Darker. Yet Darker'.
- The title of Chapter 19 is 'Lasciate Ogne Speranza Voi Ch'Intrate'.
- When Kyoko meets Ophelia for the first time, when the former asks the latter who she is, Ophelia jokingly says 'I am thou… Thou art I… From the sea of thy soul, I come…'.
- The title of Chapter 31 is 'Dawn of the Final Day'. To make it look even more like a reference, the very first line of the chapter is '24 hours remaining'.
- Spared by the Adaptation: Mami is not killed by Charlotte as Madoka manages to rescue her before it's too late.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Homura, after Madoka reveals to her that she remembers everything, starts to act far less cold than at the beginning.
