This Ben 10 Fanfic takes advantage of an idea that was introduced in the Original show, mentioned by UAF and somewhat used in Omniverse, and that is the Alternative dimension of the Gwen 10. As there are many Bens in the Omniverse, there are many other Gwen 10, a universe in which Gwen gains the Omnitrix instead of Ben. It is possible that we have met at least two or three different versions of it. And this is Azure-Witch 13's take on the Gwen 10 universe.

Witch13 introduces the idea in the fandom that Ben Tennyson has magic. What their Grandma Verdona calls the "Spark". And what would happen if Ben began to peruse learning magic instead of having the Omnitrix. Ben has always wanted to be a hero, and with the Omnitrix going to his cousin, he had to find another way to become a hero. That desire is what drives him to seek this power.

This story contains examples of the following Tropes:
- Action Girl: With Gwen being the one with the Omnitrix to be stuck on her hand, she is the one that is originally looked at to fight evil and bad guys of all sorts of powers and weirdness. As well as being a member of her school's Jiu-Jitsu team the girl already knew how to fight anyway.
- Alternate Universe: As stated before this is a Gwen 10 Universe, where Gwen was the one who gained the Omnitrix instead of Ben. This universe is not a new concept after all the Original Show had the exact same idea and its own Gwen 10 AU to show its audience, as well as Omniverse that took the idea of Alternative Universes into some logical conclusions. And this is Azure-witch13's take on this world.
- Ambiguous Gender Identity: As a ten year old, there are no designated puberty features that can show the gender of Ben. And with the outfit that he had worn in chapter one: "Rune" was too baggy to discern an actual gender.
- Big Brother Instinct: While not siblings but cousins, and with Ben being more like a younger one to Gwen's more mature personality desbite being the same age, Ben is very protective of her when she is in danger. It was shown from the start of Chapter one that Ben is a very protective child, wanting to help his cousin do her job in anyway he can, like body slamming into Hex to buy her some time. In Chapter two he stands up to Tetrax; a Petrosapien Bounty Hunter and Trained Warrior. Ben's powers are new and he doesn't have full control over yet and clearly was draining him to use, but if it meant his cousin gets some extra time without a new threat to face. In Chapter three, it is shown that Ben to go through too much, exhaustion from his powers, facing his own fears and quite possibly killing a killer Clown in order to save and protect Gwen.
- Extremely Protective Child:He loves his grandfather, and would do anything to protect him. In chapter one, he is always aware of the man and has helped him esscape Hex's magic and got him to a safer place.
- Instant Expert: While Ben is in fact training to use his powers, it is very clear that even with what little time had passed in the fic itself he is far more advanced than Gwen ever was even as a teenager. Being able to not only replicate her basic attacks and being stronger, but replicating an attack from their Cousin Sunny, who was far more powerful than Gwen.
- Kid Hero: The two main characters that this fic focuses on are two ten year old cousins.
- Strict Parents Make Sneaky Kids: As Ben had in fact injured himself a lot on the trip to the point of having pondages on his arms and possibly other parts of his body, it forced Max to be a stricter and more protective grandfather than he was in canon, and with the fear that Ben would get his powers taken away by his grandfather, he trains in secret and constructs a new Superhero identity in order to not let his grandfather know that he is helping
- The Smurfette Principle: Gwen is the only girl in the main cast with her grandpa and her cousin Ben.
