Fanfic summary

Magic of the Force is an ongoing Harry Potter and Star Wars crossover fanfiction by Vimesnthusiast. To date, it has over 20 Chapters and almost 900 thousand words.

Magic of The Force provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Several examples, with the most obvious being:
    • Anakin and Obi-Wan never developing the Mentor-Student/Brotherly relationship they had in canon, due to Mace Windu becoming Anakin’s Master, out of guilt for Qui-Gon Jinn and because he recognizes that Anakin needs some of his arrogance addressed.
  • Big Damn Heroes: When Aayla is captured during her mission, she is strapped down and about to be injected with drugs (and potentially much worse), Harry arrives in the Tatooine system and reawakens the mostly dormant Force Bond he has with Aayla. Doing so allows Aayla to purge the drugs already in her system, and allows Harry to help by use the Force through her instead of being physically present.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: What Harry and Aayla eventually develop, despite the Jedi Order’s intolerance for attachments and relationships.
  • Clingy Jealous Guy: Downplayed, but Anakin really isn’t a fan of how close Harry and Padme are.
  • Cool Ship: The Tyrant’s Bane, Fay’s (and later Harry’s) HEAVILY customized Lucrehulk. Among its various alterations include Force-induced spatial expansions, a farm for growing its own crops, and a massive array of powerful weapons.
  • For Want Of A Nail: So many examples, it could take up its own page.
  • Loophole Abuse: What Harry and the Nabooians use to justify confiscating the Trade Federation’s property, especially a Lucrehulk: there’s no law saying that they HAVE to return it, nor that they can’t claim it for themselves.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Lily and Harry give the Jedi as a whole a couple of these. Lily first calls out the unhealthy emotional suppression of the Jedi Order, as well at their tendency to take any child that is Force Sensitive regardless of the parent‘s wishes. Later, the Council gets called out for Aayla’s mission and how disastrous it could have been for a young woman, for the exact reasons one might expect.
