Ralph and his friends have woken up in a strange place, though luckily for them, it's not an unfriendly one. However, the Magic Kingdom holds dangers all its own and Ralph will find something as simple as meeting the new boss is easier said than done. Like Dreamers Do is a 2013 Wreck-It Ralph fanfic written by Finmonster, in which Wreck-It-Ralph, his friends- and one enemy, Turbo- wake up in the Grid to find that they have been invited to take up residency in the Magic Kingdom with other Disney characters now that their film is over. While Ralph's friends start making acquaintances in the Kingdom, however, Ralph himself is led astray trying to find his way to a meeting with Mickey Mouse, thanks to a certain grinning cat... The Fic was completed on June 30, 2015, and can be viewed on Fanfiction.net here

Like Dreamers Do provides examples of:
- Absurdly Youthful Parent: Absurdly Youthful Grandparent, in Snow White's case. She has the appearance of her animated self (who's canonically 14), but she has a grown daughter in the form of Emma Swan, who has a son of her own.
- Back from the Dead: Turbo at the start, and quite a few Disney characters who died in their respective films, mainly villains, but also TRON and Kevin Flynn from TRON: Legacy.
- Cats Are Mean: Downplayed with the Cheshire Cat, who's just a trickster. Subverted by the Catbus.
- Crossover: Combines the worlds of different Disney properties.
- Completed Fic: This Wreck-It Ralph-based story was completed on June 30, 2015.
- Crossover Cameo: Mr. Gold from Once Upon a Time, Loki from Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Totoro from My Neighbor Totoro.
- Dead Person Conversation: After arriving in the Wasteland, Ralph meets the spirit of Walt Disney himself, and has a chat with him before he leaves. Ralph doesn't learn that Walt died years ago until after he meets up with Mickey Mouse.
- Deal with the Devil: Sort of. Vanellope makes a bargain with Mr. Gold, aka. Rumpelstiltskin, to get Ralph back, in exchange for a favor she will carry out for him on a later date. In return, he teleports Ralph back to her via his cupboard.
- Digging Yourself Deeper: Shortly after being introduced, Jack Sparrow rubs Sergeant Calhoun and Fix-It Felix up the wrong way by initially mistaking Calhoun for a man and Felix for Calhoun's son instead of her husband.
- Easily Forgiven: Presumably, in Loki's case. In Thor, he tried to destroy Jotunheim upon learning he was a Frost Giant. Here, he's living on Jotunheim when Ralph meets him, so presumably the Frost Giants forgave him for it.
- Equal-Opportunity Evil: Hades cites this upon finding out that Turbo is the villain he's there to collect, instead of Ralph. Lotso Huggin' Bear is the example he uses.
- Fate Worse than Death: For Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and other forgotten toons, being confined to the Wasteland is this. Subverted in the end when Disney's wizards get together to release the Wasteland's occupants into the Magic Kingdom.
- Friendly Rivalry: Vanellope and Lightning McQueen, after she beats him in a race by using her glitching while driving Mater.
- Gender Equals Breed: Averted with Lola Bunny, the daughter of Roger and Jessica Rabbit. She's female, but she's a rabbit by birth, like her father.
- Heel–Face Turn: Ultimately, Ralph convinces Turbo to bury the hatchet with him, working out that Turbo's role in their film as the villain isn't so different from Ralph's role in his video game as a Punch-Clock Villain.
- Interspecies Friendship: Winnie-The-Pooh and Totoro.
- Mythology Gag: Yet again, Loki finds himself being grabbed by the ankles and held upside down by an enraged giant. He comments on how familiar it feels. Thankfully, Ralph doesn't subject Loki to Metronomic Man Mashing.
- "Not So Different" Remark: Ralph realizes this about himself and Turbo in their roles as villains- Turbo to their film, Ralph to his own game.
- Off with His Head!: Ralph shows up in the world of The Nightmare Before Christmas, where he is subjected to their "This Is Halloween" number, making him increasingly jumpy and nervous, until Jack Skellington rounds it off by saying "Boo!" to him. Ralph's response is to punch Jack's head right off. Thankfully, Jack's uninjured, due to being undead.
- Oh, Crap!: Mike Wazowski, when he realizes that he's sent Ralph through the wrong door to get back to Mickey Mouse.
- One-Winged Angel: Turbo retains his Cy-Bug form as a special ability. Comes in handy for impressing the Disney Villains.
- Reports of My Death Were Greatly Exaggerated: Turbo says this word-for-word upon meeting up with the heroes in the Grid.
- Ship Tease: Jack Sparrow is introduced making rather flirty comments to Sarah Hawkins. Her son Jim is not impressed.
- This Is Gonna Suck: Turbo's reaction to realizing the villain he's going to sit next to is Mor'du.
- Title Drop: The Disney cast do this while singing "When You Wish Upon A Star" at the end of the fic.
- Too Much Alike: In a brief meeting with Donald Duck, it becomes clear that he and Ralph are this, on account of their Hair-Trigger Temper.
- The Trickster: Loki, obviously. And the Cheshire Cat, who leads Ralph astray on his first day at the Magic Kingdom.
- Villainous Friendship: The Disney Villains, obviously. While Turbo fears that they may think him unimpressive- and initially, they do- once he shows off his One-Winged Angel form, they all get along a lot better with him- apart from Mor'du, obviously.
