An alternate retelling of Season 2 of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 by fnlrpa, notable in that it makes Setsuna and Feldt a couple while also developing Princess Marina more. It also includes several other changes to the canon, smaller and larger, such as differences with characters like Louise, Hallelujah, and Andrei, among others.

In Another Time, Another World provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Alternate Ending: After the final battle with the Innovators, Celestial Being makes a deal with Kati and the Earth Sphere Federation, giving up some of their secret technologies in exchange for a general pardon and assisting the resettlement of members who wished to have a normal life. This displaces the movie and all other works set after Season 2.
  • Adaptational Badass: Because Saji's canonical motivation for piloting the 0 Raiser isn't present in this fic due to Louise's Adaptational Heroism, Feldt ends up piloting it instead.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Louise is able to see through Ribbon's words and keeps her distance, thus avoiding her canon stint as Ribbon's enforcer. She even funds La RĂ©sistance later on.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Andrei again, who becomes Ribbon's enforcer like Louise in show canon, but willingly instead of being manipulated.
  • Adaptation Distillation: Fnlrpa repeatedly states in chapter notes that any scene not written in the story plays out as portrayed in canon.
  • Adaptation Expansion: Two whole chapters are dedicated to original content set in the 4 month timeskip in the middle of Season 2.
  • Alternate Universe Fic: Of Season 2.
  • Babies Ever After: Most of the couples have kids by the epilogue, notable exceptions being Kati/Patrick and Lyle/Anew.
  • Batman Grabs a Gun: When Federation assassins attack Katharon's safehouse in Europe, Marina willingly uses a gun to protect Shirin after the latter is injured by a bullet meant for her, even going so far as to kill one of the assailants.
  • Battle Couple: Setsuna and Feldt, once the latter starts piloting the 0 Raiser. Also Soma Peries and Hallelujah, though it's closer to friends with benefits in the epilogue.
  • Dead Guy Junior: In the epilogue chapter, Setsuna and Feldt respectively named their son and daughter after Neil and Chris, while Allelujah and Marie named their son after Sergei.
  • Demoted to Extra: Saji Crossroad, Louise Halvey, and Grah- sorry, Mister Bushido.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: Ali al-Saachez (killed by Setsuna and Feldt), Nena Trinity (killed by Ali), Hiling Care (also killed by Ali), and Andrei Smirnov (killed by Soma and Hallelujah), though the last of them could debatably also count as Death by Adaptation.
  • Falling into the Cockpit: Played for Drama and Reconstructed example with Feldt and the 0 Raiser. As in canon, the situation is dire and Celestial Being's hopes for survival rest on Feldt getting the 0 Raiser to Setsuna in the 00 Gundam. But also as in canon, Feldt has the assistance of Red Haro to operate the 0 Raiser.
  • Fix Fic: Of Season 2.
  • In the Back: Mobile suit variation. Hiling Care in their Garazzo gets unceremoniously gored by the GN Buster Sword of Ali al-Saachez's Arche Gundam.
  • Please, Don't Leave Me: Feldt tearfully begs Setsuna to not fight Ribbons and the 0 Gundam in the repaired Exia, fearing she'll lose him like she's lost Neil, Christina, and her parents, before he assures her he'll survive and come back to her.
  • Redemption Equals Life: Anew Returner.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Anew Returner lives in this version due to Setsuna shooting at the head and sword arm rather than the torso of the Gaddess, though she's temporarily rendered comatose, which results in an enraged Lyle beating up Setsuna similar to canon.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: Averted with Lyle Dylandy and Anew Returner. She lives (see Spared by the Adaptation) and achieves Redemption Equals Life.
  • The Starscream: Ali al-Saachez, realizing that the world Ribbons seeks to create would have no place for the likes of him, attempts to betray him during the final battle. Shortly after killing Hiling, however, Ribbons, who was aware of his enforcer's plot from the start, remotely disables the Arche, allowing Setsuna and Feldt to finish him off for good.
  • Xenafication: Feldt. While she starts out as a bridge operator as per canon, she does take the 0 Raiser's controls on its first, emergency sortie, and remains its pilot for the rest of the story.
