I Wanna be the Troll
is an I Wanna Be the Guy Crack Fic about writing an IWBTG Troll Fic, by KiraHeartilly, crossing over with Miraculous Ladybug, Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends with You, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and several other works to a lesser extent.
I wanna list the tropes:
- Adaptational Gender Identity
- The Guy is a trans girl in this fic, accordingly renamed The Girl.
- Marco Diaz is a trans girl as well, though she keeps the name Marco.
- Adaptation Name Change: Because The Guy is a trans girl in this fic, she changes her name to The Girl.
- Metafiction: The fic intersperses the actual fan fiction segments with segments of an Author Avatar internally debating on what to do with the story.
- Obvious Crossover Method: While trying to figure out what the trollfic will be about, the Author Avatar decides that, since canon IWBTG is already a Massively Multiplayer Crossover, she can use the setting as a vehicle to send The Girl around various canons for funsies.
- Self-Insert Fic: One layer of fiction involves the author's self-insert writing the main story, while getting advice from various fictional characters.
- Soapbox Sadie: When talking about her gender identity, The Girl takes a brief aside to note that she still thinks boys are okay too and that saying all boys are bad would be harmful, both to boys and to trans girls. An author's note parodying My Immortal adds that if you're a TERF you should "get da Hell out of here!"
- Toast of Tardiness: Parodied early on in the trollfic. When The Girl is late to class, she runs to school with a piece of toast in her mouth.
