- Adults Are Useless: Averted. Upon seeing Iruma's scarred back and missing "wings", the teachers gently try to calm him down when they notice he's starting shake nervously. In fact, most of them even want to hunt down the one responsible for torturing and having "Grounded" a child.
- Covered in Scars: Iruma's back is covered by scars from the years he suffered in the Human World.
- Everyone Has Standards: The teachers are horrified at the reveal that Iruma is "Grounded" with scars on his small back, considering the forbidden torture method to be unnecessary cruel even by demon standards.
- For Want Of A Nail: In the canon series, Arikled uses his magic to create fake wings so the teachers won't discover that Iruma doesn't have wings. In this version, Arikled didn't show up and this allowed the teachers to see Iruma's scarred back, leading them to believe the boy was tortured in the past.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Balam is ashamed for exposing Iruma's scarred back to the other teachers, as it causes the boy to have a panic attack and hide under a massive wardrobe in the teacher lobby.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The normally happy and energetic Robin is in a messy, sobbing state after seeing Iruma's scarred back.
- Scars Are Forever: Iruma's back is covered by scars that he received during his life in the Human World and with his Abusive Parents. It's implied that some of his scars are from the time he was mastering his incredible dodging skills.
- Verbed Title: Grounded. It's reference to the forbidden torture method that was used to cut off a demon's wings.
- Would Hurt a Child: While it's unknown who did it, but the way Iruma's scarred back is implied that someone had tortured him in the past.
