"Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Eternal Shadows" is a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Fan Fic written by IFBench
. The fic is set in an Alternate Universe, where it is a post-canon scenario of the last game, Super Mystery Dungeon.
The story follows Gen, a human-turned-Oshawott, who kept his memories, and was sent to the Pokémon world. There, he meets Burhalla, a Charmander, and Saltriv, a red-leafed Chikorita. Together, the trio creates a search party in order to find several Pokémon who mysteriously went missing.

Eternal Shadows contains examples of:
- The Ace: The council that has all the protagonists from the games. They're well known and are famous all over the Pokémon world.
- Alternate Universe: Gen is in a world very different to his own.
- Badass Cape: Gen gets a Reunion Cape in the story, and holds on to it.
- Body Horror: The Arctozolt is q being with two minds sharing the same body. It doesn't work out very well for them.
- Calling Your Attacks: Subverted, as they need to focus on the attacks in order for them to work.
- Doppelgänger: Dewott Gen, a member of the World Savers Council. It's unknown how he's related to Oshawott Gen.
- Everybody Is Single: Played straight.
Word of God says there are no plans for romance in the story. - Good Parents: Saltriv's parents are very caring of them.
- No More Lies: Gen has pulled himself into a deep web of lies that he cannot undo anymore.
- Parental Issues: Burhalla's dad lied to him before, and because of that, they don't get along all that well.
- The Team: Team Searchlights, a rescue party formed to find the missing Pokémon.
- Waking Up Elsewhere: Played straight. Gen wakes up in a place he does not know, and is suddenly sucked into a Mystery Dungeon.
