Bus to Nowhere
is a Danny Phantom and Batman crossover story. After Jack and Maddie discover that he's Phantom, Danny is forced to flee from his parents and the Guys in White, crossing the country until he ends up in Gotham, where a single homeless teen is an Unusually Uninteresting Sight. Besides, even if Batman gets onto him, the vigilante's wrath can't be worse than what the ghost hunters would do to him, and Danny technically has a medical condition, not the meta-gene.
- Accidental Truth: When creating a fake identity for Danny, Tucker made his last name "Kingdan" as an inside joke for how the trio has semi-jokingly wondered if he'd be the new Ghost King after defeating Pariah, only for it to turn out that he actually is the new King. Danny even lampshades it when Grundy figures out the joke.
- Downer Beginning: The story opens with Danny having to flee Amity for his own safety because the Fenton parents and the Guys in White learned that he's Phantom.
- Fantastic Racism: Not only Danny's parents and GIW towards him for being a Ghost, but also with Batman. The vigilante is infamous for his 'no metas in Gotham' rule, to the point Danny is terrified of reaching out to the Bats at all, for fear Batman would literally break his back and leave him to bleed out in the streets. Nobody is really aware Superman is genuinely Batman's friend, and Spotlight is a meta he adopted.
- Hooker with a Heart of Gold: Danny becomes friends with many of the hookers and strippers in Crime Alley, and does a lot of work with them.
- I Have Many Names: Besides his Danny Fenton and Phantom identities, and his alias of "Tommy Kingdan", in Gotham Danny gets called "Dumpster", "Snacks", and a few other nicknames.
- Klingon Promotion: To become the next Ghost King is a matter of trial by combat. Danny argues that defeating Pariah Dark was a team effort, except Clockwork reveals Dan had made a point of killing Pariah in that Dark Future, and was indisputably the Ghost King, so Danny's sole triumph over his evil self guaranteed he was king.
- Refuge in Audacity: Danny plans to tutor up all the streets kids of Crime Alley, who are basically a vicious gang all in themselves who are capable of crippling even Penguin's operations if provoked, into earning scholarships to attend the prestigious, upper-class Gotham Academy. Because it would be hilarious, and a strike at the rich.
- Ring of Power: After learning that he's the Ghost King, Clockwork directs Danny to take the Ring of Rage so he can use its Thinking Up Portals capabilities until he can learn to do it on his own.
- The Runaway: After Jack and Maddie discover Danny's secret, they assume that Phantom killed and was impersonating their son, forcing Danny to flee Amity Park and eventually end up in Gotham.
- Thinking Up Portals: The Crown of Fire and Ring of Rage can both open up portals to the Ghost Zone. After learning that he's the King, Danny ends up taking the Ring until he can learn to do it himself.
