All from scratch
is an Amphibia fanfiction written by Darkspirit. This fic is an AU where the box goes missing after Anne and the Plantars were transported to Earth in season 3 and expands more on the consequences of "True Colors" for everyone involved.
All from scratch contains examples of:
- Adaptational Angst Upgrade:
- Sasha gets this big time in chapter 1 (which is the events of "Turning Point") with expansion on her guilt and regrets over her actions during the show with chapter 3 also expanding more on her own family issues.
- Anne gets more focus on her trauma over seeing Marcy get stabbed and missing her and Sasha back on Earth.
- Adaptational Expansion: The fic does this with Sasha and Marcy's parents and how they dealt with their daughters' disappearances. Sasha's mother is shown to be caring to her daughter and even helped Anne's parents try to find their daughters, but the divorce has led them to have a more distant and strained relationship and both her and Sasha being embittered by it by the start of the series (Sasha being more controlling to her friends and Sasha's mother being more ruthless toward others). Sasha's father is shown to be neglectful to his family, rarely visits Sasha, and doesn't help in trying to find her (only having arguments with his wife over how to find Sasha). Marcy's parents are disapproving toward Anne and Sasha and consider them bad influences with their attitudes being strict, goal-oriented, and academically driven. Chapter 6 also reveals they gave up on finding Marcy early on and moved away without her.

- Several Wartwoodians play bigger roles compared to season 3 in canon due to increased focus in Wartwood here.
- While in canon she is only referred to in Anne's Christmas letters in "Froggy Little Christmas", Sasha's mother actually appears in the end of chapter 6 with the implication being she will be playing an important role later on.
- Easily Forgiven: Very much averted for Sasha and Grime in regard to the Wartwood citizens' reaction to them as unlike canon, they are nowhere near as trusting of the two during chapter 1 (which is the events of "Turning Point") especially after finding out about the failed toad rebellion. Even after finding out Sasha genuinely wants to make things right and protect them, they still don't trust her and have her and Grime do community service with heavy supervision to make sure neither tries to backstab them.
- Named by the Adaptation: Sasha's mother is named Mellissa here.
- Shout-Out: The fic 's human world is shared with Gravity Falls; at one point, Anne chats with Mabel Pines online to find a way back to Amphibia and Mabel brings up Ford's actions in dealing with Bill Cipher in the past.
