All Bets Are OFF is an OFF AU that essentially places the characters in a high school setting. Zacharie is a stoner, Batter's real name is Michael Casey, and the Queen, Seneca, and Japhet are really terrible human beings.

All Bets Are OFF provides examples of:

  • Alone with the Psycho:
    • After he snaps, Japhet and Pablo are, at some point, alone together in the woods, where nobody can hear the latter's screams...
    • Not-quite with the Charlotte, Seneca, and Pablo situation, but Charlotte is powerless to help as her horrid boyfriend hurts Pablo in an unimaginable way.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: In an early chapter, Pablo and Zacharie both wish that something interesting would happen in their small town. Well...
  • Big "NO!": Pablo, when Valerie insinuates that he and Zacharie had sex underneath the bleachers. Ironically, they actually do have sex the next chapter.
  • Break the Cutie: Charlotte, Pablo, Zacharie, Valerie, Batter, and Sugar.
    • Charlotte was trapped in an abusive relationship and raped multiple times, causing her to become apathetic.
    • Pablo was raped twice by two different men and was also violently assaulted, not to mention his boyfriend cheated on him, he has been depressed for years, is a recovering self-harmer, and attempts suicide once during the story and once in his past, three years ago. Oh, and the boy he turns to after a messy breakup with the cheating boyfriend is murdered.
    • Zacharie sleeps around a lot, half for the money and half for the fun. Some of his various partners injure him, a few even warranting a hospital trip. Not to mention his dad beats him when he's drunk sometimes. His mental state is in shambles, but he hides the scars with his mask.
    • Valerie was betrayed and tortured by someone he loved. Ouch.
    • Batter is a victim of Toxic Masculinity, meaning he has to bottle up all his emotions, pretend his abusive girlfriend can't get to him, and not do anything feminine. He feels a lot of pressure, and when his emotions finally spill out, it's an extremely feelsy scene.
    • Sugar is an orphan who lives with a roommate (emancipated from foster care), and that roommate happens to be her drug dealer. She's also addicted to heroin.
  • Hey, That's My Line!: When Pablo is temporarily incapacitated after the Japhet, Seneca, and Damien fiasco, Zacharie adopts his style of speaking. Once Pablo is well again, one of the first things he does is scold Zacharie for stealing all of his catchphrases.
  • I Have This Friend: Damien, trying to tell Batter that he thinks he may be gay for Pablo. Later on, Batter does the same thing with the same reason (about Zacharie), only he has more at risk because of his Parental Issues.
  • Questionable Consent:
    • The sex between Zacharie and Pablo, seeing as they were both extremely drunk and neither could consent.
    • Also with the eventual sexual relations of Pablo and Bandit, since Pablo is only trying to prove that he isn't broken.
  • Sanity Slippage: Japhet. In the beginning of the story, he was Valerie's suave French boyfriend. By the end, not only is he dead but he has become a torturous rapist and murderer.
