A Lump In My Throat
is a The Powerpuff Girls fanfiction created by Gullfriend31 about Bubbles needing a tonsillectomy. It is a sequel to No Guts, No Glory.

- Actor Allusion: Bubbles dreams of being an alicorn like Twilight Sparkle as a reference to their most famous actress, Tara Strong.
- Affectionate Nickname:
- Buttercup calls Bubbles "Bubs" similar to how she does in the 2016 reboot.
- She also calls her "Bubsie" in chapter 2.
- Afraid of Needles:
- Bubbles is afraid of getting a shot, and it's one of the reasons she is scared of surgery.
- Bubbles is also unnerved when she has to get a needle for the IV, but she finds it's not so painful after all due to the numbing cream she was given beforehand.
- Animorphism: Bubbles dreams she becomes an alicorn, but she enjoys it.
- Baffled by Own Biology: Bubbles wakes up with a very sore throat and thinks it might be because of a cold, but it turns out to be tonsillitis.
- Bedhead-itis: Bubbles wakes up with the messiest hair of her sisters, and also happens to be the only one who's sick.

- Crashing Dreams: The animals in Bubbles' dreams cheer her on by chanting her name, in the real world, the Professor tries to wake her up by saying her name twice.
