A Change For The Lost is a Danny Phantom and Young Justice (2010) crossover where, after some unknown disaster kills Jack and Maddie, and apparently a number of other people, Danny is eventually forced out of Amity Park entirely by the GIW and joins the Team.

This story contains examples of:

  • Arbitrary Skepticism:
    • Even in a world with aliens, Olympian gods, Amazons, magic users, etc, a lot of people are skeptical about the existence of ghosts and Phantom. It doesn't help that the "Phantom of Amity Park" comics mean that most people think that Danny is fictional.
    • Danny lampshades this regarding Barry.
  • Brown Note: Something about the Reach drink means that, while humans and full ghosts don't notice anything, halfas find the taste/smell vile.
  • Composite Character: Sam is crossed with Raven in this continuity.
  • Family Relationship Switcheroo: It's revealed that Sam's "parents" are actually her maternal aunt and her husband, her mother having left her with her sister.
  • Flawed Prototype: The Reach managed to successfully turn one of their Meta-Gene experiment failures into a half-ghost under their control, but he suffers from the same instability issues that plagued Danielle.
  • Fountain of Youth: A bird ghost in Metropolis is turning people younger for some reason.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: After Will is freed from Reach control, he doesn't remember anything that happened while he was under their control.
  • The Mentor: Danny falls into this role with Will once the latter starts accepting his powers, helping him learn to deal with being half-ghost.
  • Older Than They Look: Impulse lets slip that Danny's future self has apparently aged very well.
  • Original Character: Will, one of the Reach's Meta-Gene experiment failures, who they then managed to turn into a halfa.
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: Like with Vlad, Will's hair color in his human form changed as a result of becoming a halfa.
  • Psychic Block Defense: Ghosts, and halfas in ghost form, are harder to contact telepathically than regular humans, due to the willpower they'd need to successfully overshadow someone without being forced out.
  • Redemption Demotion: After Will is stabilized and freed from Reach control, he not only doesn't remember how to use his powers, his ghost form is smaller and apparently not as strong. Black Beetle uses this to argue against continuing the project, considering the lesser power after the instability is cured an issue that makes the worth of the Hunters dubious.
  • Restraining Bolt: The Reach had one on Will, which was removed in the process of healing his instability.
  • Shapeshifter Mode Lock: Will, due to the Reach using him as an attack dog in his ghost form for weeks, is initially "stuck" in ghost form and unable to revert to human after he's stabilized and freed from their control. Danny has to use the Plasmius Maximus to allow him to change back.
  • Ship Tease: Danny and Sam, as in canon.
  • Show Within a Show: The "Phantom of Amity Park" comics, which Danny hates.
  • Super-Senses:
    • Danny has perfect night vision in ghost form.
    • Even in his human form, Will's sense of smell is significantly enhanced.
  • Takes One to Kill One: The "Hunters", halfas created and mind-controlled by the Reach, seemingly to hunt Danny down in the Reach Bad Future. It's even lampshaded that the best way to fight a ghost, or half-ghost, is to use another ghost.
