A Big Cop in a Small Town
is a Modern AU Game of Thrones fanfiction heavily based on the 2007 movie Hot Fuzz. It is written by SeeThemFlying.
Brienne Tarth, a London policewoman(ahem...police officer), gets promoted to sergeant in a small, sleepy town in Somerset known as Casterly.
Brienne's tough, by-the-book ways clashes with the police force's laid-back attitude. She gets partnered with Jaime Lannister and isn't too happy with the arrangement.
As she and Jaime's relationship become closer, a bunch of strange things happen, causing the two to get wrapped in a tangle of dark secrets.
This fic contains examples of:
- Accidental Misnaming: Everyone except Jon thinks that Brienne's first name is Brian, leading to a bit of confusion. Later, Beric Dondarrion spells Brienne's name wrong in the paper, much to her annoyance.
- The Ace: Brienne, whose arrest rate is 40% higher than everyone in the Met, which makes them look bad in comparison.
- Bad "Bad Acting": Renly and Loras' Romeo and Juliet play. It leads to their deaths.
- Big Brother Is Watching: The NWA has access to the security cameras of Casterly. Arya, Gendry, and Hot Pie spray them with spray paint so they can't see what Brienne is up to.
