The Soul's Savior
is a My Little Pony: Equestria Girls fanfiction created by Dusty Old Qrow.
The Fall Formal sees Sunset Shimmer defeated and dethroned as leader of Canterlot High School. Desperate for redemption, she lacks anyone to turn to for help - except the five girls who's lives she tormented. Does she deserve help? Does she deserve friendship? Rainbow Dash seems to think so.
Meanwhile, Time Turner, a teacher at Canterlot High School, watches Sunset's progress from afar. But he too is desperate for redemption - but for what? Who has he hurt, and why? How is his story connected to Sunset's?
The story is currently in progress, and is undergoing a rewrite as of July 2020.
The Soul's Savior provides examples of:
- Accidental Hand-Hold: More like "Accidental Arm-Over-Shoulder", but it counts. While in the school, Rainbow Dash yawns and her arms end up around Sunset's shoulders.
- Action Girl: Rainbow Dash, obviously.
- After Action Patch Up: After chapter 13, part 2, Sunset ends up with a minor head wound and has Dash look at it.
- The Atoner: Sunset Shimmer, for her actions as a bully in the first movie. Time Turner too, as he gave up his daughters after his wife died. He is now trying to earn their forgiveness.
- Declaration of Protection: Once Sunset tries to start being a better person, Rainbow promises to protect her from any vengeful students.
- Driven to Suicide: Time Turner, after the death of his wife. He's stopped by Luna, but it leads to him giving up his daughters to a family friend.
- Dumb Blonde: Averted in the case of Derpy and Dinky. While not the smartest, they certainly aren't dumb.
- Expy: Time Turner is one of the Tenth Doctor, according to
Word of God. - The Glomp: At the end of the second part of chapter 13, Sunset does this to Rainbow Dash.
- Heroic BSoD: Turner goes through a variation when Dinky and Derpy abandon him and shun him. He gets better.
- Hollywood Kiss: Two. The first with Time Turner and Vice Principal Luna, and the second between Sunset Shimmer and Rainbow Dash.
- I "Uh" You, Too: Rainbow Dash.
- Promotion to Parent: Berry Punch, after Ditzy dies and Turner gives up his kids.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Again, Berry Punch. She gives it to Turner pretty bad.
- We Used to Be Friends: Berry Punch and Time Turner. Ditzy Doo, too.
- You Should Have Died Instead: The author meant to imply this as how Dinky feels towards Time Turner.
