* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: Fira, Wata, Terra and Zephira. The last one's the only one with three syllables in her name, and she's generally the odd one out in every aspect.

* DropTheHammer: Bennett's weapon is a hammer.

* TakeThatMe: Max calls Wax, Xav and Maw "Red-Eyes Me, Mr. Cliché-Paladin and Wannabe-Sephiroth" in the original. This is their actual title in "The Sequel".

** ''M.S.P.'' also means ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZelda Master Sword]] Phantom''.

It removes immortal state and then deals a 100%-accurate instant kill. Saylia's immortal state may be permanent, but if he hits her with this move, she's afflicted by a plethora of statuses including Toxic, which renders her unable to take moves and lose 20% of her HP and MP every turn. And he can bust this move up as his first move, even in his first appearance which is [[DifficultySpike just after the Elementals]].

* LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters: 22 playable characters. For a RPG, especially one this short, this is much.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Max, Wax, Saylia and Wata all have blue hair. NPC Malirak also has blue hair. Kelaud, Ferenan, Leeroy and Terra all have green hair, Loup has grayish-green, and Ilya has pink hair.

* MarySue: The villains are all meant to represent MarySue archetypes, specifically how ProtagonistCenteredMorality applies to them.

* PlotTunnel: The end to Chapter 2 used to be this (until you get the [[PlotCoupon Fairy Hand]], that is). In fact, there used to be a glitch where you could enter said PlotTunnel in Chapter 5, making it UnwinnableByMistake, since the only way out was finishing Chapter 2.

* UnwinnableByMistake: There was one in old releases of the game: jumping in the hole at the second floor in the Invincible's Castle during Chapter 5. There was no way to get out of there, resulting in you being locked, and you had access to a switch that would only lock you further.
