Gameboard-Chaos is a Danganronpa-based Tumblr Play-by-Post Game.

In it, a class of 20 students — each with a Super-High-School-Level talent — are trapped in a giant, interactive board game. And, in pure DanganRonpa fashion, can escape only by killing one of their fellow classmates and getting away with it!

The original host blog for the roleplay has been deleted. Some of the remaining roleplay can be found here.

Warning: all spoilers are unmarked.

Gameboard-Chaos provides examples of:

  • Asshole Victim: Ren is supposedly this, seeing as his death was an accident as he tried to kill someone.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: George. You wouldn't be able to tell the guy with a sonic ring on his shirt who makes all of his inventions look like toys could do what he does, but here we are.
  • Crapsaccharine World: The first chapter's setting appears to be a land made of candy. There's even a lemonade river.
  • Cuddle Bug: George likes being close and personal with people, and you can tell when he gets comfortable with anyone.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Toki was abandoned at the age of six by her parents who considered her an "accident", parents who were drug dealers, after an incident which costed them a lot of money. Then, she was taken in by a Children Home, and then when she was adopted and went to school she received a lot of hate and harassment.
  • Death by Irony: The first death is that of Reeno, the SHSL Fear Inducer, so scared and desperate to go home he runs into an electrified wall.
  • Hope Spot: In the second trial, the death is eventually ruled as a suicide, seeing as PAIGE had inadvertently caused Ren's death. But, as she isn't a student, it seems nobody will be executed. Until Zeni decides to execute her anyway out of boredom.
  • A House Divided: The only way for people to get out is to murder a classmate of theirs- and as a consequence, nobody can really trust anybody.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: The second victim, Ren Araki, is found impaled on a patch of spikes.
  • The Mad Hatter: George will happily claim that he's a crackpot inventor with more ambition than sense, but he'll also be quick to point out that someone like him wouldn't be necessary if he wasn't in a mad world already.
  • Rasputinian Death: Kotori was stabbed and drowned. Then, she was hanged from a tree and one of her arms was sliced off and hid.
  • Red Herring:
    • Reeno, the SHSL Fear Inducer, seems like an interesting man with a cool talent. He dies in the prologue, getting electrocuted after touching a wall.
    • The Chapter 2 motive has actually nothing to do with the murder at all. Also in Chapter 2, a dunce cap is found on Ren's body, but it turns out Zeni was the one to place it there in order to mess with everyone.
  • Shock and Awe: Reeno goes out this way, touching an electrified wall.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye:
    • Reeno, who died in the prologue.
    • Ren, as well, wasn't very known
