Marta, an ordinary girl, finds something in her own backyard. It turns out to be a big pink diamond, and suddenly, she finds herself in the moon, where a superhero base is located. She has no choice but to turn into a superhero herself. And so, she is involved with a veteran young superhero; she introduces her best friend into this mess; and a supervillain is conspiring against the superhero organization.
El Escuadrón Gemma Gamma (or "Team Gemma Gamma" in English) is a story written in 2009 by Astriferous under the name "La Joya Mágica del Poder". Although finished and published, this entry is now under the bowels of this very Darth Wiki due to the decision of the author to rewrite the book. The reason? It was too painful to read, even with the annotations done during 2012 and 2013.
A sequel was to be written, but it was cancelled after half a chapter. Who knows, maybe it will find its way into the rewritten edition. In 2016, a remake in the form of a webcomic is in the works.
Tropes for El Escuadrón Gemma Gamma are:
- Badass Cape: Pretty much the main cast.
- Bittersweet Ending: Darkstorm is defeated, but all superheroes have to give up their powers to avoid any incidents like this. At least Marta claims to be happier this way.
- Blood Knight: Sebastián.
- Mineral Macguffin: Their jewel Transformation Trinkets.
- The Chosen Many: This superhero division chose several people, either born of supers or out of all the Muggles, to serve as "superheroes of small duties".
- Shock and Awe: Darkstorm's power.
- Small Steps Hero: Marta, and potentially, Ámbar. This might change in the rewrite.
- Sphere Factor: In one episode, Marta, Sebastián, and Ámbar get stuck in some bubble-like...things.
