Dyan Cannon (born Samille Diane Friesen; January 4, 1937, in Tacoma, Washington) is an American actress, director, and screenwriter. She earned Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress for her roles in the films Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice and Heaven Can Wait and won a Golden Globe for the latter. She also earned an Oscar nomination for producing and directing the 1976 short film Number One, making her the first woman nominee on both sides of the camera.
She was married to Cary Grant (who was 33 years her senior) from 1965 to 1968 and to real-estate investor Stanley Fimberg from 1985 to 1991. With Grant, she had one daughter, Jennifer, who is also an actress.
