    In general
  • Genie in a Bottle: Kleks is a ghost, but he otherwise fits as he's a blue creature that used to live in an ink bottle and possesses magical powers.
  • Name and Name: The title has the names of the three heroes in "Name, Name, and Name" format.
  • Symbol Swearing: Whenever a character swears, their speech bubble has some kind of drawings, including an arrow that points to the employment office in Pióro contra Flamaster.

    Volume I
  • Elevator Buttons Mash: In "Niech żyje wyobraźnia", Jonek pushes buttons to make the elevator go up and down to help his imagination. This aggravates a man who's waiting for it.
  • Riddle Me This: Inverted in "Wyprawa na Wyspę Uśmiechu", where a giant traps the trio in a cave and only intends to let them out if they tell him a question he doesn't know the answer to. Jonek and Jonka try rather standard riddles, while Kleks asks what his shoe size is. As the giant can't answer since he's barefoot, he lets them go.
  • Sticky Situation: In "Telemania", Kleks leaves "Universal Perfumes for Burglars" by his window which is taken by one. When he tries to use it on his head, he discovers it's glue, and ends up sticking to a bunch of things until he returns to Kleks and Jonka's apartment.

    Volume II
  • Magical Flutist: In "Czarodziejski flet", Kleks decides to make this kind of flute after hearing Jonek and Jonka go to a play with the same name. He makes it with a stool leg and enchants it, but doesn't see any results, until he unwittingly discovers it attracts mice.
  • Stock Ness Monster: In "Potwór z Loch Ness", the trio tries going to Loch Ness to find the monster in their bathtub. While they don't find it there, they discover a sea snake in their bathbub regardless.
  • Telepathy: In "Uroki telepatii", Jonka reads a book about telepathy and attempts it on Jonek, thinking it'll make him famous. She tells him to do what she thinks at five o'clock. Jonka decides to think of eating ice cream, but Jonek ends up eating cake, so the experiment is deemed a failure.

    Pióro contra flamaster
  • Big Bad: Jolsky is the head of Uniflamaster who intends to capture Kleks to ruin Interinkaust's plans for advertising, causing the pair of kids to have to ultimately rescue him.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Kleks informs the audience that he will defeat Jolsky without using spells. He stays true to his word.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Two of Jolsky's lackeys decide to put on fake moustaches and beards so they could be unrecognized by the boss who's likely to be infuriated by their failure to secure Kleks. Unfortunately, they're discovered and believed to be suspicious non-passengers by a stewardess before they can even see him, leading to them getting escorted off the plane and subsequently fired.
  • Invisibility Ink: Kleks is given invisible ink that causes him to no longer be visible after drinking it. He manages to revert the effects by drinking fountain pen ink.
  • Mad Scientist: Quint, Jolsky's right-hand-man who takes care of the lab and performs experiments on Kleks.
  • The Password Is Always "Swordfish": Kleks points out in his mind that Quint's safe code being 2-1-3 makes it easy to see and remember.
  • Rage Against the Reflection: Jonek leads one of Jolsky's goons to believe his boss has been replaced by a doppelganger. This leads him to mistake Jolsky's mirror as it, making him break it in an attempt to attack.
  • Sex Sells: One of Jolsky's employees suggests having a woman in a pink dress kissing a plume as an advertisement, before Masters exclaims it's horribly kitschy.
  • Showgirl Skirt: The girls in the broadcast Kleks appears in wear pink skirts with feathers.
  • Versus Title: Representing the battle between the quill and the pen.
  • Wholesome Crossdresser:

  • You Just Told Me: Jolsky realises Jonek and Jonka were sent by Masters when the former mentions "competition" as a potential thing that can be seen from a baobab tree.
