Dominatrix, also known as Gene Simmons Dominatrix, is a six-issue comic series from IDW Publishing. Written by Sean Taylor, the comic serves as the flagship book for the Simmons Comics Group which was created by KISS member Gene Simmons. Simmons described the book as "CIA meets TNA" though Taylor wrote in an afterword for the trade paperback edition that he always envisioned the series as "Mary Tyler Moore meets Crimes of Passion."

The story follows Dominque Stern, a professional Dominatrix who finds herself ensnared in a world of government cover-ups and international conspiracies after one of her clients, a man named Doug, accidentally reveals classified information to her.

Dominatrix provides examples of:

  • Bondage Is Bad: Averted. While Doug's morality is questionable, none of Dominque's other clients are shown to be bad people and Dominique herself is a good person.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Dominque uses a Groin Attack on one of the assassins sent after her. She also manages to snag a gun from one of the Mooks who have captured Doug and uses it on the rest of them.
  • Combat Stilettos: Both Dominique and Happy Jacq wear these. Dominique complains about her feet being sore at one point.
  • Crazy Homeless People: Billie Jo appears to be this at first. It turns out she is actually the super assassin Happy Jacq.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Dominique takes off her top when fighting the soldiers who captured her in Issue #3.
  • Dominatrix: The eponymous character is a professional dominatrix.
  • Dressed Like a Dominatrix: Justified in Dominique's case since her dominatrix outfit is her defacto superhero outfit.
  • Go-Go Enslavement: A variation. Dominique is naked in bed when she is drugged and captured by the black ops team in Issue #2. When she awakes, she is dressed in her own dominatrix outfit.
  • Ignore the Fanservice: Dominique taking off her top has no effect on Rottweiller.
  • I Have Your Wife: Doug blackmails Dominique into helping him get a suitcase from a man with a wooden hand by poisoning her friend Erin and withholding the antidote unless Dominique does as he says.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Dominique spends most of the story in her dominatrix costume and even gets a topless scene in issue #3.
  • One-Steve Limit: Dominque knew another guy in college named Doug. According to her, he couldn't get it up unless a woman scared him.
  • Punny Name: Dominique Stern is a dominatrix.
  • Safe, Sane, and Consensual: Dominique's philosophy as a dominatrix. She makes it a point that she only goes as far as the client wants.
  • Scary Black Man: Rottweiller, the black ops team leader who abducts Dominique and tests her fighting skills. He also rapes her while she is unconscious.
  • Sleeps in the Nude: Dominque is shown to do this in Issue #2 just before she gets captured.
  • Super Serum: Before he gets captured, Doug gives Dominque some pills which he describes as "super soldier in a bottle". The pills grant Dominque super strength, speed, a Healing Factor and a Spider-Sense. Rotweiller and Crazy Jacq aka Billie Jo use the same type of pills.
  • Stripperiffic:
    • Dominique's dominatrix outfit consists of a leather corset, thigh boots and opera gloves.
    • Happy Jacq's outfit is a Badass Longcoat worn over a skimpy Leotard of Power.
  • Undressing the Unconscious: Inverted. Dominque Sleeps in the Nude but her captors dress her in her own dominatrix outfit. Dominque accuses them of doing it for their own amusement.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Dominque's pills give her super strength, speed and an "early warning system". However, she lacks formal training which proves to be an issue when she fights a soldier who uses the same kind of pills as her but is better trained.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Dominque gets involved in the plot when Doug partially reveals classified information to her.
