Main Characters
Dylan
A 21 year old studying audio-visual media and photography at university.
- Big Ol' Eyebrows
- Disappeared Dad: Is dad left his mum when he was a kid.
- Hair Antennae: Has a single strand of her that pocks out and curls up on top of his head.
- Has a Type: Both his former crush Carolyn and his boyfriend Joa are energetic redheads.
- Important Haircut: following on from the end of Book 1 when Joa suddenly stops responding to Dylan's texts, Book 2 starts with him getting his hair cut shorter by his friend Angela.
Joa
A vampire who was turned in 1985 when he was 25.
- Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: Once he and Dylan start getting along he starts becoming more of this.
- Hot-Blooded: As a human he was very keen on fighting and getting into fights, but was relaxed and casual around people close to him, like Jess or Mark.
- Limited Wardrobe: For most of the story he wears the same outfit, consisting of a black leather jacket, dark grey jumper and black jeans, with evidence of him wearing the exact same outfit from a flashback to when he was turned, 29 years ago. Although in a later chapter it's Averted in another flashback where he wears a different outfit altogether.
- Shirtless Scene: Has one at the beginning of Chapter 7 of Book 1 when Dylan goes over to his place in nothing but a towel, though this is justified since he had just got out the shower.

Other Characters
Marcel
Joa's Sire. An old and powerful vampire who resides in France, has many with "children" and underlings across Europe.
- Vampires Are Rich: He is very much this.
Mark
Joa's childhood best friend from when he was a human. Had lived with Joa from their teens to their early 20s until Joa moved in with his girlfriend Jess, and then not long after mysteriously disappeared.
- '80s Hair: of the punk/goth scene.
- Goth
- Tall, Dark, and Handsome
- Whatever Happened to the Mouse?: As mentioned above Mark just disappeared after Joa and Jess moved in together (2 years before Joa was sired by Marcel), with no indication in-universe or by Word of God of what happened to him, as of yet.
Jess
Joa's girlfriend from when he was a human.
- '80s Hair
- The Lost Lenore: Averted since it's Joa who "died" and not her.
- Whatever Happened to the Mouse?: In-universe. After Joa was turned he went with his sire, Marcel, and never got the chance to see her again, with no idea to the present of what happened to her.
Irene
Dylan's mother and businesswoman who lives just outside the city where Dylan goes to university.
