Notable Aliases: Spider-Man

First Appearance: Spider-Verse #2 (January, 2015)

Peter Parker has a similar history to his Earth-616 counterpart. He eventually married Mary Jane Watson and had a daughter named Annie.

  • Alternate Self: He's a mirror image to the majority of the other Peter Parkers, save for one detail... he's still married to MJ.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: He returns as the protagonist of The Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows, making his appearance in Spider-Verse one.
  • For Want Of A Nail: He has this discussion with a Spider-Man wearing the black suit, wondering exactly what sets them apart from each other. Turns out he's married and the black suit-clad Spider-Man isn't.
  • Happily Married: Unlike all the other Spider-Men whose history parallels Earth-616's, he's still married to Mary-Jane.
  • Papa Wolf: After realizing his daughter is in danger from the Regent's government, he takes up his black suit and becomes willing to do whatever it takes to keep them safe, including Cold-Blooded Torture. His daughter gets him to back down from killing the Regent.
  • Retired Badass: When the Regent took over, he quit being Spider-Man to take care of his family.

Notable Aliases: Spinneret, Venom

First Appearance: Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #1 (June, 2015) note ; Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows (Vol. 2) #2 (December, 2016) note

Mary Jane Watson has a similar history to her Earth-616 counterpart. She eventually married Peter Parker and had a daughter named Annie.

  • Badass Boast: Mary Jane in the final issue of the miniseries, donning a set of exoskeletal armor and joining her family in beating the hell out of Regent. While wrecking all the tanks that are holding captured heroes, Annie starts throwing around the idea of them both getting superhero codenames.
Mary Jane: I've already got one. "Mom!"
  • Clothes Make the Superman: In the ongoing series, MJ dons a Spider-suit that uses the Regent's tech to give her Spider-Man's powers. The downside is that this prevents Peter from using his powers to their full potential and risks knocking him out if she draws on too much. She tries to get around this using the Venom symbiote, but is forced to go back to her old costume after it's killed.
  • Combat Tentacles: She restrains Poison Spider-Man by transforming her fingers into tendrils, but he easily breaks free.
  • Did You Just Hijack Cthulhu: Mary Jane is ultimately able to dominate the Venom symbiote with her willpower after it tries to take over her.
  • Heroic Host: MJ dominated the Venom symbiote through sheer willpower, using it to act as a superhero without draining her husband's powers; and while she has a very low opinion of Eddie Brock she still helps save him when he's attacked by Poisons.
  • Superpowers for a Day: MJ is Venomized for a handful of issues before losing the symbiote to the Goblin Mecha, leaving her once again reliant on the Power Copying Regent tech.
  • You Remind Me of X: She tells Poison Spider-Man that Spider-Venom reminded her of her husband, and apologizes for not being able to save him.

    Anna-May "Annie" Parker

Notable Aliases: Spiderling

First Appearance: Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #1 (August, 2015) note ; Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #5 (November, 2015) note ; Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows (Vol. 2) #4 (April, 2017) note

Anna-May "Annie" Parker is the child of Peter and Mary Jane Parker in the future of another alternate continuity. Here, Annie grew up having to hide her powers from a villain known as the Regent until his defeat enabled Annie and her parents to resume her normal lives and even adopt her own costumed identity with her family. See The Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows for more info.

  • Alternate Self: Subverted. She isn't one for Mayday Parker, who in this universe was born stillborn.
  • Bully Hunter: Annie was shown beating up bullies with her super strength.
  • Cheap Costume: Annie's first costume is just her normal street clothes with knee pads, fingerless gloves, a dog leash for a belt, a sheet for a cape and swimming goggles for her eyes. The Power Pack made it for her.
  • Dead Guy Junior: Annie has a double dose of this. She's named Anna-May Parker, after her great aunts Anna (MJ's aunt) and May (Peter's Aunt May). It also counts for Normie Osborn, Harry Osborn's son.
  • Fiery Redhead: Annie inherits much from her mother.
  • Foil: Annie has one in Normie Osborn pre-time skip. Where she grew up with both her powers in a loving family that includes a retired Superhero, Normie spent the first years of his life with his father Harry Osborn as the Green Goblin and his mother becoming an Evil Matriarch after Harry died saving Peter once. And where Annie grew up naturally developing her powers, Normie's been giving himself small doses of the goblin formula. Overall, Annie was a happy child, while Normie was a Creepy Child fueled by revenge.
  • Generation Xerox: Annie is the spitting image of her mother, at least in the original series. Later writers gave her a more distinct appearance (Girlish Pigtails and then after Time Skip, a more modern hair style with curls) that also blended MJ's features with Peter's.
  • Kid Hero: During the miniseries and the first twelve issues of Volume 2, Annie is eight years old but perfectly capable of kicking butt and taking names. The Time Skip ages her up to sixteen.
  • Seers: In addition to the usual Spider-Sense, Annie has a special variant that grants her a psychic vision of near-future disasters and dangers several minutes or hours in advance, the activation of which she describes as a buzzing sensation. She keeps the existence of this super-sense a secret from her parents far into her teen years.
