Bizarre Alien Biology
Bizarre Sexual Dimorphism: The females of the Chorus are tall, slender, multi-armed females. The males are tiny cockroach-like insects.
Both Sides Have a Point
Eldritch Abomination: They manage to be this more than the Blue-Blue-White.
Fantastic Racism: They suffer this upon first contact with humanity. Even the more sympathetic characters display this towards the Choir.
"It" Is Dehumanizing

One-Gender Race: Mostly averted, but the males aren't really treated as sentient.

Bizarre Alien Biology: They’re giant jellyfish aliens that communicate through bioluminescence, and live in gas giants.
Death Ray: Something humanity's not even capable of in modern times, but they seem to have a working one half a billion years in the past.

Poor Communication Kills: Possibly the worst in fiction. The Blue-Blue-White created the drones we see in Forsaken Skies in order to terraform new planets for them to live on and meet new species, but the original queen ship (and every subsequent queen ship) couldn’t recognize anything other than their creators as sapient species, no matter how advanced they were. Valk sums up that the drones have been around for eons murdering countless species and humanity just got lucky.
Sufficiently Advanced Aliens: They created automated terraformer drones that could last for half a billion years and self-replicate. Forbidden Suns takes their it even further by showing that they have dreadnaughts and gigantic cities in the clouds of their gas giant, are capable of producing giant laser emitters that cut through ships like butter (something humanity still isn’t capable of), used one of the two dwarf stars in their home system to expand their planet into an impossibly gigantic homeworld…and they were capable of this half a billion years before Forsaken Skies.
