Amigo

The face of the game who is the most popular maracas artist in the music scene today and is still hungry to become even greater. With his rhythm and perhaps luck, nothing can hold him back once he grabs the maracas.

  • Costume Evolution: Amigo dons a snazzy new outfit for the sequel, trading out his poncho and sombrero for a sweater, parachute pants and sneakers. The original outfit does return as a purchasable item, however.

Amiga

Amigo’s proud little sister who is a popular Pop idol. Her lucky charm is a pink flower she wears as an accessory that Amigo gave her as a present. Amiga also plays the tambourine.

  • Jiggle Physics: Not as overt as Linda, but Amiga is no slouch in the chest department either and she also jiggles a fair bit.
  • Plucky Girl: Shares her brother’s energy and love of music.
  • Shout-Out: Her skirt is all most like Amy Rose's dress, which is also a shout out to Roll's dress.
  • Spoiled Sweet: Amigo’s great success as a musician allowed Amiga to grow up in a wealthy environment, though other than being whiney on occasion she has grown into a kind young woman.

Linda

A good friend of Amigo, a gorgeous fairy woman who is almost constantly dancing. One of the hottest samba dancers in town who acts very mellow, but she has very high professional standards. She loves dancing by finding the groove and will often tell others that "if you're gonna do it, do it like a pro!"

  • Ms. Fanservice: A samba dancer who goes around wearing a bikini-like costume and has prominent breasts with Jiggle Physics. The Wii version's intro even takes a shot at her butt.
  • Spicy Latina: A non-human example, but has more than enough energy and is gorgeous.
  • Two Guys and a Girl: with Amigo and Rio
  • Weight Woe: It is mentioned she is currently dieting on veggie sticks.

Rio

Rio was formerly the most popular Pop idol before Amgio, but there are no hard feelings and he has since become Amigo’s partner. He always plays a silver trumpet and usually has a rose in his hand. Due to his appearance, most players mistake Rio for being female.

Bingo and Bongo

The wacky twin dancing bears work inside stuffed animal costumes that play drums. Bingo operates the blue mechanical bear while Bongo operates the pink mechanical bear. They love comedy shows, and when Bingo starts clowning, Bongo is right there to poke him around for a quick laugh.

  • Beary Funny: Twice over, two jolly little bears who do comedy acts inside larger robotic bears.
  • Expy / Shout-Out: One of the bears true forms seem to resemble pooky or Teddy.

Chumba and Wumba

Chumba was the former boss of a street gang who turned his life around to become a mandolin player. Wamba owns a bar where Chumba frequently hangs out and he turns into a different kind of cheetah when he stands in front of a set of congas. Chumba and Wamba were named after the band Chumbawamba, whose song "Tubthumping" appears in the games.note

  • Fat and Skinny: Chumba is broad and stout whilst Wamba is tall and lanky.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Chumba used to be a criminal, but music helped him get back on the right path.
