XCOM Field Operatives
Second Class Sergeant Marauder James "Rhino" Axel
A Catholic Nigerian-American army man who lost his legs in the forced emigration of Nigerian civilians and traded his arms for the power of the MEC chassis in a bid to prove to himself a man worthy of his family and regain his homeland.
- Artificial Limbs: As is the case of most MEC troopers
- BFG: A constant in Axel's field loadouts
- The Big Guy: As expected of a Marauder Class MEC
- Religious Bruiser: Often makes signs of the cross before commencing on an operation
Master Sergeant Jonathan "Taranis" Baxter
Master Sergeant Engineer Marcos "Scorpion" Kane
A Mexican-Cartel-Wannabe-turned-Counter-Cartel-operative-turned-XCOM operative, Marcos Kane brings his skills with small explosives and the wrench against the Ethereal Invaders, the Creatures of Grimm, the Cult of Sirius, and all other threats against humanity.
- Mad Bomber: As expected of an Engineer operative
- Mad Scientist: Tinkers with all sorts of mechanical projects

Colonel Noah "Warden" Byrne
A member of Strike 10, Warden enjoys a reputation for his nigh-invulnerability in the field, preference for nonlethal tactics, and RWBY-esque character traits. Warden was a member of the Republic of Ireland's Garda Emergency Response Unit before joining XCOM.
- All-Loving Hero: Noah's unique defining characteristic is his empathy for the invaders; by his reckoning, something terrible must have happened to them to push them on the path they've ended up on, and he has vocalized that wishes more than anything that the war could have been avoided with a peaceful exchange for whatever it is that the Ethereals needed. Rather than hate them, Warden pities them. His affinity for captures stems from a desire to see a few more survive what he views as a senseless war, and his perception that XCOM has advanced sufficiently that this does not present overly much additional risk to human life. This preference does not stop him from cutting loose and kicking ass with terrifying results when the situation calls for it.
- What the Hell Is That Accent?: Noah speaks with an accent. Is it accurate to Ireland at all, much less to the specific region (County Monaghan) he's claimed to be from? Perhaps not so much.
Lieutenant Ruby "No-Scope" Rose
- Friendly Sniper: A given due to both her skill with the sniper and the optimistic youth
