Main Characters

    Niimi Kakeru
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kakeru_2.jpg
Protagonist
Voiced by: Atsushi Abe

The protagonist of the Nine Series, and a second-year student at Hakusen Academy.

  • Buxom Beauty Standard: He outright says that that he prefers big boobs, a point that's driven home when he pretends to join Rig Veda due to said attraction; when Renya points out that Miyako of the Valhalla Society also has a large chest, Kakeru retorts that Haruka's is bigger, and that makes all the difference.
  • Childhood Friends: He and Sora have been close to Satsuki since they were little.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He makes his fair share of sarcastic comments, with Sora being his usual target.

    Kujou Miyako

Kakeru's classmate
Voiced by: Misato Fukuen

Kakeru's classmate, and the heroine of Episode 1: Kokonotsu Kokonoka Kokonoiro.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Sora refers to her as "Myako-sempai."
  • Affluent Ascetic: She may be rich, but you would never know it from her frugal lifestyle. She gets nervous at the thought of spending more than 1,000 yen on anything, for any reason.
  • Buxom Beauty Standard: It's pointed out that Miyako has a large chest, a feature that's emphasized by her short height, and Kakeru implicitly states that he finds this attractive.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Downplayed; she's shown to be uncomfortable whenever Haruka gets too close to Kakeru, but she doesn't usually make too big a deal out of it.
  • Intangible Theft: Miyako's Power of the Thief steals a person's memories of a stolen item along with the item itself. The victim gets their memories back when she returns the item, though they will not realize that anything has been stolen unless she admits to the theft. She can also read a person's mind by stealing just the memories themselves.
  • Literally Shattered Lives: She is petrified and shattered by the Evil Eye User in Episode 1's bad ending.
  • Nice Girl: She's by far the sweetest of the heroines, always trying her best to be helpful to those around her.
  • Supreme Chef: Kakeru, Sora, and Haruka can all attest to how great her cooking is.

    Niimi Sora
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sora_84.jpg
Kakeru's sister
Voiced by: Atsumi Tanezaki

Kakeru's younger sister, and the heroine of Episode 2: Sorairo Sorauta Soranooto.

  • "Begone" Bribe: Kakeru gives her money to leave his house while Miyako was there.
  • Brother–Sister Incest: As made clear in the later parts of Episode 2, her feelings for Kakeru go beyond that of normal siblings.
  • Childhood Friends: She and Kakeru have been close to Satsuki since they were little.
  • First-Name Basis: She's most often referred to be her first name to avoid confusion with her brother.
  • Genki Girl: She's mostly portrayed as being very energetic.
  • Perception Filter: She can make herself, and others, almost unnoticeable.

    Kousaka Haruka
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/haruka_5.jpg
'Empress'
Voiced by: Yuri Yamaoka

A third-year student at Hakusen, and the heroine of Episode 3: Haruiro Harukoi Harunokaze.

  • Buxom Beauty Standard: Haruka has the largest bust among the heroines, and Kakeru is explicitly attracted to her because of it; she even catches him staring at it.
  • Commonality Connection: She gets along with Noa due to their shared love of anime, manga, and cats.
  • Expository Pronoun: Haruka differentiates herself from her "Empress" persona through different Japanese Pronouns; regular Haruka refers to herself with "watashi," while "Empress" Haruka uses "watakushi."
  • Gamer Chick: She's shown to enjoy various video games in Episodes 3 and 4.
  • Lethal Chef: Her cooking is so bad that she "killed" the curry she was trying to make Kakeru, despite Sora pointing out that it's a dish anyone can make.
  • Love at First Sight: When questioned by Sora about how Haruka fell in love with Kakeru, Haruka admits that she fell for him "pretty much at first sight." The curry incident just spurred her to impulsively confess her feelings to him.
  • Shrinking Violet: She is incredibly shy, especially around boys, to the point where she can barely talk with stuttering.
  • Split Personality: The "Empress" is a much more confident alternate personality of Haruka created by her Artifact. "Empress" speaks with a deeper voice, and her speech patterns in Japanese are noticeably different from her regular persona.Example
  • Token Good Teammate: She's by far the most moral member of Rig Veda, so it makes sense why she would eventually ditch them to join the heroes.

    Yuuki Noa
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/noa_9.jpg
'The Order'
Voiced by: Akane Fujita

A mysterious second-year student at Kuho Girls Academy, and the heroine of Episode 4: Yukiiro Yukihana Yukinoato.

  • Commonality Connection: Thanks to a couple of shared hobbies, she ends forming bonds with some unlikely people:
    • She and Haruka both really love cats, and they enjoy anime and manga, to the point of playing a certain robot game because it features some of their favorite works.
    • Despite being enemies otherwise, she and Renya share quite a few Chuunibyou tendencies.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: There's a reason Kakeru calls her the "Parfait Queen."
  • The Stoic: Whenever she does talk, it tends to be a low monotone. It only serves to reinforce the Chuunibyou image the other characters have of her.

    Sophitia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sophitia.jpg
Plushie dimensional traveler
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sophia_0.jpg
Her true/human form
Voiced by: Satomi Arai

A strange plushie-esque being appearing before Kakeru.

    Naruse Satsuki

Kakeru's homeroom teacher
Voiced by: Hana Takeda

  • Childhood Friends: She's been close to Kakeru and Sora for a long time thanks to their respective parents, to the point where the siblings refer to her as "Satsuki-chan" when not at school.
  • Body and Host: Iris can channel her powers through Satsuki's body since her body is compatible.

    Fukazawa Yoichi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yoichi.jpg
Kakeru's best friend.

  • Pet the Dog: His interactions with Kakeru show that he's not completely heartless.

    Ghost
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ghost_60.jpg
A mysterious girl
Voiced by: Natsumi Takamori

A being created by an Artifact, serving as a member of Rig Veda.

  • Blood Knight: Under Yoichi's control, she really loves to fight using her Artifacts. It's the reason why in Sorairo route, she deliberately waited Kakeru to come to her so she would have someone to test her powers on.

    Takamine Renya
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/renya_takamine_5.jpg
The Chunnibyou Commander
Voiced by: Tomokazu Sugita

A third-year student at Hakusen, and the commander of Rig Veda.

  • Badass Normal: Despite his chuunibyou tendencies, he trained in martial arts and his skills are enough that Kakeru recruits him to his anti-Iris team despite him having no Artifacts.
  • Childhood Friends: He's known Yoichi since their youth, with the latter being his Only Friend.
  • Commonality Connection: Despite otherwise being enemies, he gets along surprisingly well with Noa due to their shared chuunibyou tendencies.
  • Has a Type: He states that he prefers girls with small chests.
  • Large Ham: To Yoichi's displeasure, he has a tendency to chew the scenery.
