Main Characters

    Hinako Kyougoku
A former student of a catholic all-girls school who has reincarnated in another world after falling off a train platform. She now adventures with her new little sister Eiris in the search of her "sister" Hidako.
  • The Bait: Hinako's modus operandi. She has a monster-luring bell that she uses to catch their attention during combat. She often does this without consulting anyone else in the party with the expectation that Eiris can kill the distracted monsters before she herself is killed by them.
  • Be All My Sins Remembered: She is convinced that she is a sinner whose bad deeds, especially the incident with Hidako, cannot be forgiven. It is notably the primary reason for her not accepting any blessing from Theos as she reincarnated as she believed that she should be punished, not rewarded.
  • Bottled Heroic Resolve: Hinako carries bottles of Soma on her for cases of emergency. They are potions meant for berserkers to heal their wounds and buff them up at the cost of incredible pain while it's active, along with an estimated 60% success rate with very heavy consequences if it doesn't.
  • Creepy Good: When Hinako gets intense, she can easily produce the most terrifying panels out of any other character in the manga.
  • The Fettered: Hinako's actions are guided largely by her conviction in both "God" and her "siblings", and the lengths that she is willing to go for both puts her firmly under this trope.
  • The Heart: It is explicitly made clear that Hinako's function is to be the caretaker and the emotional core of her party, and that it is the only thing that she realistically can do as she does not possess any special powers, fighting prowess or exceptional smarts. This is despite possessing many traits not normally associated with this character type.
  • Improvisational Ingenuity: Hinako can be a quick-thinker and quick to act in solving a problem with little time with the resources at her disposal. Demonstrated in Chapter 13 where she used her second bottle of Soma, a healing potion, to feed into Junko through mouth-to-mouth to prevent Junko from killing herself to create another time loop.
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: We know that Hinako did not accept a Cheat Skill, but there is something off about her in certain moments where the world almost seems to twist to her whims and emotions with shadows curling in surreal and obtuse angles around her making her appear monstrous and gigantic.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: One of Hinako's actual offensive options in combat are the explosive potions she carries on her person. Being who she is, she has very little consideration towards how close she herself is to said explosions.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Without a cheat, an amputated arm, and small body, Hinako has a disadvantage compared to other Otherworlders with cheats and tougher opponents. Despite that physical disadvantage, Hinako makes up for it with her quick-thinking actions and equipment.
  • Yandere: Her feelings towards Hidako are very strong, and consist of both love and hatred for what she has done. She herself admits that she is unsure whether she'll try to make things up or try to kill her once she does find her.
    • She is similarly willing to kill anyone who tries to harm her new "siblings".

    Elis Kyougoku En Quba
An emotional young giant who looks up to her new older sister Hinako, protecting her from harm as they adventure together in the search of what they have lost.
  • The Ace: Elis is the primary fighter between her and Hinako. Elis's giant physiology and magic capabilities make her an extremely powerful and skilled warrior. The sheer power of her skills leave a lot of people whether her opponents to her allies, in awe of her abilities.
  • Big Little Sister: A very exaggerated case as Elis is literally a giant whereas Hinako is a human.
  • Chekhov's Skill: Etiquette. Downplayed over the course of the story but brought into relevancy in a flashback. A significant character development for Elis. It was revealed that Elis's ability to interact with other living creatures that weren't her species was taught by Hinako when they first met. Learning manners as a means of interacting with other people allowed Elis to communicate and learn each of their individual skills to apply to her own abilities.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Despite her size and inherent power, Elis is incredibly agile and fast during combat. Able to perform acrobatic moves in very confined spaces and not giving herself an opening when she fights.
  • Magic Knight: Elis is classified as a wizard, and a very powerful one at that, but this can be hard to tell as she is capable of solving most encounters with just her martial prowess.
    • This is especially significant as in the world that she exists the number and complexity of magical tattoos that a person develops determines how much power they will have. As a Giant, Eiris has much more surface area to cover with tattoos making her that much more powerful when it comes to magic.
  • Multi-Melee Master: While Elis defaults to a giant shovel, she demonstrates the ability to fight with a great variety of melee and ranged weapons, including unarmed.
  • One-Man Army: Elis's giant size, magic capabilities, and combat skills gives her all the advantage of fighting multiple opponents smaller than her to even larger opponents.
  • Pointy Ears: As is the case for all giants, though combined with her albinism they more than anything make her look like a giant elf.
  • Prone to Tears: Cries when she's happy, cries when she's angry, cries when she's sad.
  • Shovel Strike: Elis' weapon of choice. She often uses magic to change its form to suit different situations.
  • Smarter Than You Look: Despite initially letting Hinako decide her actions and how her race are perceived as dimwitted brutes, Elis is a lot smarter and perceptive than she lets on.
  • Squishy Wizard: Zig-Zagged. She's considered small and weak by giant standard, so she's still much bigger and stronger than any human. And she often enhances her physical attributes in combat, to subvert her squishy status.
  • Yandere: Elis is both very possessive and protective of her new older sister, and is willing to kill anyone and everyone who would try to harm her. And often capable of doing so, too.
