Allen family

The family that - like the Kims in the previous film - started out as a group of three, at least until James is taken into custody for felony drug possession and jailed for 10 years.

    Grace Allen

Grace Allen

Portrayed by: Nia Long

Siri, call June.

A Van Nuys woman (formerly from San Antonio/Mountain Springs) and mother of June, Grace had gone on vacation with Kevin to Colombia. Only, James kidnapped her on the 405 and had Rachel Page hired to pose as her.

    June Allen

June Allen

Portrayed by Storm Reid, Ava Zaria Lee (6 years old), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Unfiction)

I'm not giving up on my Mom!

June is a high school senior. She was originally born in San Antonio, Texas and spent her early childhood in Mountain Springs, Nevada. When June was six, she and her mother moved to Los Angeles, California to start a new life without James. When she learns that Grace didn't make it back home from Bogota, June files a missing persons report. Along with this, the disappearance makes international headlines.
  • The Aloner: June is left alone with Caesar by Kevin and Grace before leaving for Colombia, or so Grace thought.
  • Bratty Teenage Daughter: June is at odds with her mother in the beginning of the film, spending the emergency money Grace left her to throw a Wild Teen Party behind her back.
  • Broken Pedestal: June was a fan of Unfiction until an episode about her mother's abduction was produced, causing the show to lose her interest and respect.
  • Can't Take Criticism: Seeing the media turn on Grace made June snap. The reason? They're reporting that Grace is suspected to have been involved in the kidnapping in Colombia, or so it seems.
June: I cannot take this anymore!
  • Damsel in Distress: In the penultimate part of the movie, June is kidnapped in a Honda Civic that matches the LAPD's APB and taken to Mountain Springs by James.

Persons of interest

The people involved in Grace's disappearance and subsequent kidnapping, which is a revenge plot since James' release from Eastham Prison after 12 years.

    James Walker

James Walker

Portrayed by: Tim Griffin

12 years, Sarah. 12 years!

A drug addict and Domestic Abuser from San Antonio who was once married to Grace/Sarah, he apparently died of a brain tumor. note  He later exacted revenge on her by having con man Kevin Lin - his fellow inmate - to pose as her prospective boyfriend on Luvly. It just so happens that he's the mastermind behind Grace's disappearance at the end of the movie.
  • The Aggressive Drug Dealer: James had been one.
  • The Alleged Car: The Honda Civic that James drives appears on the Allen house's Ring Camera. It matches the LAPD's APB.
  • Berserk Button: Whenever Sarah objects to his drug dealing and addiction, he angrily tells her to "cut the shit" and just help him.
  • Drugs Are Bad: James gets nosebleeds doing drugs in the video dated April 13, 2008.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Or stabbed. James gets stabbed in the neck by a mirror shard Grace is holding (in an attempt to stop June from leaving and subsequently getting shot), and - after locking them in - tries to find a hospital online. He dies afterwards, his head hitting the spacebar and the typing cursor moving through the Duck Duck Go's address bar (his motionless body is later seen in the porch camera of 48541 Mariposa Road).

    Kevin Lin

Kevin Lin

Portrayed by: Ken Leung

Just get off the grid. Do a hard reset.

Grace's new boyfriend, until it was later revealed that he used many aliases to scam many women (not to mention he was posing). He was later shot by the la policia despite surrendering, leaving the trail for June to find Grace cold.

    Rachel Page

Rachel Page

Portrayed by: Lauren B Mosley

Bartender by night, actor by day, slaying it always.

The actress who worked at the Larchmont Tasting Room. She posed as Grace during the Colombia trip, and got "kidnapped" by thugs in a white van - turns out they're actors trying to make their IMDB pages popular.

    Heather Damore

Heather Damore

Portrayed by: Amy Landecker

You need to let the police handle this stuff.

A friend of Grace's and a lawyer, who was the last person to be involved in the plot. She was later killed by James, resulting in June looking into her office and finding it ransacked (additionally, the computer of hers was in the process of being erased) and the former's corpse being found in the janitor's closet at 10pm on June 27, 2022. What's worse: there were scrawled images with threats laid on her desk.
  • Best Friend: Grace and Heather knew each other before or after the identity change.
  • Blackmail: She was forced to erase the local disk by James before dying and being found in the closet by June.
