Main Characters

    Margaret de Campos

Margaret de Campos

Animal Transformation: Mouse, Mink (Sylvia's route), Macaw (Felicia's route), Cat (Felicia and Gavin's routes), Highland Cow (Julie's route)

Our player character, a mousy young woman who works in a bookstore.

  • Bespectacled Cutie: Bordering on Nerd Glasses, she's rarely ever without them.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Along with the rest of the main cast- in her case, red.
  • Gender Bender: Can undergo this temporarily in Felicia's route.
  • Leitmotif: "Theme of a Mousey Girl" for day-to-day life, and "Sleepytime" for more peaceful moments.
  • Nervous Wreck: Julie quotes the trope when describing what Margaret used to be like in their college days. Even at the start of the story, the topic of whether she'd like to run her own cafe some day sends her into a tizzy about bankruptcy and fire insurance, though she does gain some self-confidence as things progress.
  • Old Maid: Her aunt is rather upset that Margaret's nearly thirty years old and hasn't found a spouse yet.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Gains the ability to understand Felicia's cats after a brief cat transformation. This carries over to replays and other routes.

    Felicia Banks

Felicia Banks

Animal Transformation: Cat

Margaret's boss, who owns and runs Barlow's Books.

  • The Alleged Boss: The main reason she's Margaret's boss is because Margaret was anxious about the responsibility of running a business and turned down an offer from Barlow's previous owners, with a customer commenting that she thought Margaret was the boss due to how much she does on the job.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Along with the rest of the main cast- in her case, blue.
  • Gender Bender: Undergoes this in all story routes, as a result of drinking the magic Kemono Tea. Being a trans woman, she's very okay with it.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: Felicia already owns eight cats at the start of the story: Opal, Smokey, Kyle, Whisp, Shade, Duchess, Salmon, and Mittens. Felicia makes them homemade cat food daily from chicken and rice.
  • Leitmotif: There are three versions for Felicia's theme "Peaceful Heart": a Skirt Version for most of her story, a Slacks Version prior to her transition, and a Low Key variant.
  • Neat Freak: Apologizes for her apartment being a wreck when Margaret first comes by, despite it being the most spotless apartment Margaret has ever seen. Felicia mentions that she has to vacuum daily to keep the assorted fur at bay.
  • Playful Cat Smile: Gains a subtle one as her default expression, after her transformation.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Gains the ability to understand and talk to her cats during her storyline.

    Gavin Van der Valk

Gavin Van der Valk

Animal Transformation: Hawk, Bunny (Felicia's Route), Beaver (Gavin's route), Mouse (Gavin's route)

Margaret's best friend and owner of Tea Friends, a specialty tea shop that Margaret frequents.

    Sylvia Drake

Sylvia Drake

Animal Transformation: Snake, Fox (Felicia and Julie's routes)

Margaret's somewhat flaky coworker at Barlow's Books, who keeps skipping out on her shifts.

  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Along with the rest of the main cast- in her case, yellow.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Squeals with delight when she sees mini-Margaret in Gavin's route, spending several seconds gushing over how adorable she is.
  • The Fashionista: Considers looking her best to be a top priority. Part of her route has her using self-hypnosis to become a bit less self-conscious.
  • Hidden Depths: Margaret (and the player, potentially) initially writes her off as shallow and self-absorbed, but she's eventually revealed to be very generous and caring. Also, her route reveals the reason she's been skipping out on her shifts at the bookstore- she's trying to focus on her desired career as a stage magician.
  • Hypnotic Eyes: Gains these as part of her transformation. Unlike a lot of examples of this trope, she's fully aware of the damage she can do, and takes great pains to avoid it without consent. They eventually come in handy for her career as a hypnotherapist in her route's ending.
  • Leitmotif: "Dangerous Curls" for her regular appearance, and "More Like You" for "Honey Peach Sylvia".
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Has this reaction in her route when she realizes she's accidentally created an alternate personality within Margaret via her hypnosis.
  • Playing Sick: The story begins with Margaret being called in to work on her day off because Sylvia called in sick. Margaret then bumps into Sylvia on the street after closing, with Sylvia holding a bunch of shopping bags from a clothing store, and faking a cough so badly that she convinces Margaret to give her pointers on acting instead of deriding her for being a flake.
  • Spoiled Sweet: Comes from a rich family, but turns out to be one of the most compassionate and caring characters in the story. She steps up to help out the miniaturized Margaret at the store in Gavin's route, refuses to out Felicia in her route, and takes good care of "Portia" in Julie's route, not only keeping her housed but making sure she's having a good time.

    Julie Lin

Margaret's college roommate and old friend, who recently moved back home from France.
