Knockout Ambush: How he died. Cheren unexpectedly appeared to fight before Devin could prepare his Pokémon accordingly, resulting in him being killed when Partidge was overwhelmed by Snivy.
Make A Splash: Was the Water-Type starter. Regrettably, his nature prevented him from being very good at using his Water Gun.
Sacrificial Lamb: Was one of the many Pokémon killed by Cheren.
Together in Death: Died immediately after his partner, Partridge.
We Hardly Knew Ye: Was killed in part 3, far earlier than any other Pokémon in Devin's previous runs, and died sooner than any other Starter, not even getting to evolve once.

Partridge the Lillipup

Knockout Ambush: How she died. Cheren unexpectedly appeared to fight before Devin could prepare his Pokémon accordingly, and Partidge was unable to kill the Snivy before it unleashed a devastating Vine Whip and killed her in one hit.
Sacrificial Lamb: Was one of the many Pokémon killed by Cheren.
Together in Death: Her death was followed immediately by her partner Bluejay's.
We Hardly Knew Ye: Like her partner, she didn't last very long before dying.

Demoted to Extra: He and Penguin didn't see any use at all during the finale. not that many viewers minded, as it allowed their teammates some time in the sun as well.
Dragon Ascendant: Became the leader following the deaths of Bluejay and Partridge, and remained so for the remainder of the series.
The Hero: Considered by many to be the main protagonist of the series.
Trauma Conga Line: OH BOY. Until the second half of the series finally cut him some slack, it appeared as though the universe just had it out for the poor guy. He was abandoned by his previous trainer, rendered one of the Sole Survivors of multiple brutal fights and lost three of his partners as well as Grackle.

11th-Hour Superpower: Learned Gunk Shot during the Final Battle. He only used it once.
Beware the Silly Ones: He's, well, a walking bag of trash. How is that supposed to be threatening? [[spoiler: Devin and his viewers had that question answered when Turkey proved vital against Shauntal, N and especially Marshall.
Death by Irony: All he ever wanted was to be respected, and was ultimately killed by a Critical Hit during the fight against Ghetsis right as Devin was singing his praises for his efforts.
Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Not only did he do this for himself, he managed to help do this for his entire species for many people.
Replacement Scrappy: So much so that Devin stated that having to put him on the team was worse than losing Aquilavus. Didn't last.
