Masanosuke Akitsu
Voiced by: Daisuke Namikawa
Masanosuke is a skilled swordsman hailing from a prominent family. He is very shy and despite his incredible talent, he is often fired because of his clumsy and awkward behaviour around other people.- Bad Liar: Too honest to lie well.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Masa's a very competent swordsman, but his timid personality keeps him from holding bodyguard positions.
- Brutal Honesty: As part of his No Social Skills. His habit of always speaking the truth as he sees it drives much of the character development within the Five Leaves by forcing the other members to confront problems none of them are willing to voice.

- Kindhearted Cat Lover: Regularly feeds and houses a stray cat who lives near his rowhouse.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Despite being terrified of crowds and public attention, he kowtows to Yagi on an open street to beg for Yaichi's life.
- Performance Anxiety: Cannot handle crowds.
- Rōnin: Justified. Despite being a skilled swordsman and hailing from a prominent family, he's shy and is clumsy and awkward around people. He's often fired from his jobs because of it.

- Socially Awkward Hero: Masa is this in in spades. Unusually for the trope, rather than being simply a character quirk Masa's social awkwardness and anxiety have drastically impacted the course of his entire life, as it often can for people who suffer from it to his extent. Despite being by far the most skilled swordsman in the setting, he shamed his family name, can't hold a steady job, and was all but exiled from his birthplace for being too timid as a samurai. He originally joins the Five Leaves because he wants to learn from Yaichi's charisma in order to "fix" his own personality.
- The Teetotaler: Refuses alcohol because he gets drunk too easily.
Yaichi
Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai
The charismatic leader of the "Five Leaves." A mysterious person, he dislikes telling about his own past and lives in a local brothel, protecting and flirting with the women working in there.- Mr. Fanservice: He's a Pretty Boy with hazel eyes and a sexy voice dressed in a pink kimono. One of the red light district's girls says that they are always arguing over who gets to sleep with him.
- Smoking Is Cool: He smokes a pipe on occasion.
Matsukichi
Voiced by: Yūya Uchida
Usually called "Matsu," he was once a lone robber and is now a member of Five Leaves. As a spy, he gathers information about their targets. He creates metal hair ornaments for women as a business to generate money outside of the Five Leaves gang and a pretense for spying.- I Owe You My Life: To Yaichi, which is also the reason why he works for him. Later he's also this to Masanosuke after the latter saves his life.
- Mistaken for Pedophile: Was mistaken for a lolicon when people thought he had the hots for Masanosuke's little sister after he gave her an especially expensive hair ornament, which was actually just his way of thanking Masanosuke for saving him.
- Not So Stoic: In his arc, where he was imprisoned and some parts of his past were revealed.
- The Quiet One: Doesn't speak much and initially stays at a distance from the rest of the group aside from Yaichi.
- The Stoic: Alongside Umezou, he's more emotionally reserved compared to the other Leaves members.
Umezou
Voiced by: Masaya Takatsuka
Owner of a tavern where the members of Five Leaves meet and discuss their plans. Getting revenge on a man who made his daughter cry was the catalyst for the formation of The Five Leaves.- Doting Parent: Ume's immediate reaction to hearing about his daughter being sexually harassed is to reach for a knife.
- Papa Wolf: He's this to Okinu. The reason the Five Leaves was started in the first place was because he wanted to kill someone who had harassed her at work, but was convinced kidnapping was the better option.
- Reformed Criminal: Ume before the Five Leaves.
- Tsundere: Despite coming across as gruff and abrasive and frequently speaking poorly of the other Five Leaves members, he gets easily attached to Masa and considers the entire group his closest friends.
Otake
Voiced by: Fuyuka Ōura
Otake is the local geisha of the Five Leaves. She is revealed as having used to work in a brothel until Yaichi paid her way out of bondage.- Hooker with a Heart of Gold: Before Yaichi paid her out, she worked as a prostitute in a brothel. Even after being paid out of bondage by Yaichi and joining the House of Five Leaves, she is still a suave, cool-headed, and maternal woman who treats everyone around her kindly.
- Never Gets Drunk: Otake is constantly drinking without any apparent ill effects.
Ginta
A negotiator who moves in with Masa. He does odd jobs, though his advertised specialty is in mediating disputes, particularly ransom negotiations.
- Sixth Ranger: Joins the group late as it's about to disband.
