The Phantom Thieves

    Luz Noceda

Luz Noceda / Enchantress

Arcana: 0. Le Mat (The Fool)

Persona: Circe, Wild Card

Weapons: Palisman Staff, and Glyph Magic

The leader of the Phantom Thieves, Luz ends up in the Persona universe after opening a portal by accident, ending up temporarily being fostered by Sojiro Sakura.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Various things that happen shortly after she arrives in Tokyo cause her to fall into a similar state, albeit less severe, to how she was in "Thanks To Them" much earlier than in the show.
  • Adaptational Badass: As a result of possessing the power of Personas, she's naturally more powerful than she was in The Owl House. Interestingly, this also goes for the Persona side due to Luz being a Composite Character with Ren/Joker, as she proves to be more capable than he was in similar circumstances.
  • Butch Lesbian: She downplays this, both in that she's bisexual and more of a tomboy. Luz has a significant number of boyish interests, prefers to wear androgynous clothes, has her hair in a pixie cut, and is notably nonplussed with the idea of being mandated to wear a skirt at Shujin. That said, she also voices how the only reason she doesn't want to wear a skirt is because she is being forced to, and her idol is the highly feminine Magical Girl Warrior Azura, with her Thief costume being based on her.
  • Chafing Against the Dress Code: Luz is not happy about the dress code for Shujin Academy. While she normally isn't against wearing skirts from time to time, being forced to wear one as part of the dress code for school is not something she approves of. When Luz is shown her school uniform, she specifically asks Principal Koboyakawa if he would be willing to allow her to substitute the skirt for some pants and is notably annoyed when he insists that she wear the skirt.
  • Clap Your Hands If You Believe: It's implied that part of the reason why she has a cognitive version of Owlbert as part of her Thief getup and can use her glyphs in the Metaverse is because she associates these things with her concept of "being a rebel".
  • Guilt Complex: As always, Luz has a very massive problem with blaming herself for things that are out of her control. Luz has more than one breakdown over Amity and King getting trapped in the alternate version of the Human Realm with her without any means of getting home. She also has a significant problem with feeling like she isn't doing enough to make the situation for her friends and loved ones better when realistically there is nothing that she can do in that moment in time.
  • Magical Girl Warrior: Luz very much fits as such, even more than in canon. Luz adds in the power of her Persona, Circe to her typical Glyph Magic. Her style of fighting thus takes the form of close-range magical attacks as well as summoning of her own Persona for finishing blows. The trope also applies to Circe herself, as she wields a massive spear in addition to her own Kou line of spells.
  • Magic Staff: After awakening to her Persona, Luz's Metaverse outfit comes with a cognition of Owlbert. While she is in the Metaverse and Palaces, Luz is able to use Owlbert in the same manner that she used him in "Young Blood, Old Souls", the instant she leaves the Metaverse, Owlbert, being a cognition vanishes.

    Amity Blight

Amity Blight / Twilight

Arcana: XVII. L'Etoile (The Star)

Persona: Morgan Le Fey

Weapons: Palisman Staff, Abomination Magic

Youngest daughter of the Blight Family. Strongest Abomination Witch at Hexside School of Magic and Demonics. Luz Noceda's Awesome girlfriend. Amity always makes sure to do her best to look out for the wellbeing of her girlfriend and is one of the people who is initially pulled into the Persona Earth when the inhabitants of the Owl House attempt to summon a Persona. She is the second member of the Phantom Thieves to awaken to her Persona, Morgan Le Fey of The Star Arcana.
  • Adaptational Badass: She not only has access to her Abomination magic, but she also gains her own Persona capable of casting powerful magic of their own, namely the Ei line of Curse spells.
  • Dark Magical Girl: Fits this to a T, her overall design, together with her abomination magic, making her a foil to Luz's heroic light mage.

     King

King

A strange dog-like creature, King is, unknown to almost everyone, the last living example of the Titans, the corpses of which became the Boiling Isles.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: Practically any female who's met him displays an overwhelming urge to cuddle him because of how adorable he is.

     Ryuji Sakamoto

Ryuji Sakamoto / Skull

The school delinquent of Shujin Academy, he was originally one of its rising track stars, until an injury took him out for several weeks. It wasn't helped that Kamoshida made constant abusive comments towards him, meaning he barely notices that the injury has completely healed.

     Kasumi Yoshizawa

Kasumi/Sumire Yoshizawa / Violet

A red-haired girl who Luz meets early on in her time at Shujin Academy, she is a dancer, whose twin sister died in an accident, joining Luz's team.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Played with. In Royal, she does join Joker in the Flash Forward segment in the casino, but, as a active member of the Thieves, she doesn't join until the final Palace, whereas Kasumi joins before Ann.

     Ann Takamaki

Ann Takamaki / Panther

One of the most popular girls in Shujin Academy, she is also thought to be Kamoshida's girlfriend, with Kamoshida trying to force her to keep the illusion going in exchange for her best friend getting preferential treatment.

The Owl House

     Eda Clawthorne

Eda Clawthorne / The Owl Lady

Hustler, con artist, crook, and proud. Eda has quite the reputation within the Boiling Isles, with there being as many tall tales about her as there are true ones. One thing is for certain. If you need someone who knows someone, Eda's usually your first port of call.
  • Ambiguous Situation: She may have a Persona. She went through the summoning ritual, but if a Persona did show up, it didn't stick around.

The Conspiracy

     Masayoshi Shido

Masayoshi Shido

A politician who is running for Prime Minister, he leads the Conspiracy, with his ideal world being one where people think what he wants them to think, does what he wants them to do and acts as he desires.
  • Big Bad: Of Persona 5's story. Just for starters, when Luz's arrival in her current universe inadvertently disrupted his plans, he tried to have the book thrown at her because of it, even though she doesn't know that he exists, and it's clear that what happened wasn't intentional.
  • Corrupt Politician: Oh so much.
     Suguru Kamoshida

Suguru Kamoshida

A former medal-winning athlete, he fell on hard times, with Shido getting him the job of PE teacher at Shujin Academy, with Kamoshida running the students ragged, making them run themselves way past their body's natural endurance, with him running a side-hustle where he takes female students into his office and rapes them.

Others

     Sae Nijima

Sae Nijima

A detective who manages to figure out that the police aren't actually investigating anything to do with Luz's case, just trying to force prosecution despite the evidence being circumstantial at best, and gets her a foster family until she can locate Luz's actual family.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Downplayed, as while Sae wasn't an out-and-out jerk to Joker in the original story, she was more cold to him and mostly focused on getting answers out of him to get a conviction. Here, Sae is very kind and understanding to Luz despite her being in prison. It's implied part of this is due to relating to Luz being mistreated because of circumstances outside of her control.

     Sojiro Sakura

Sojiro Sakura

On the surface, a coffee shop owner. Most of the time, he even does that job, but other than that, you don't ask what he does.

The Emperor's Coven

     Emperor Belos

Philip Wittebane / Belos

A former puritan witch hunter, the story of how he came to end up in the Boiling Isles is a long one. Appearing as a omnious masked figure, Belos is the defacto leader of the Isles, having organized the coven system and regulations on the magical system. What none of the people of the Isles knows is that part of the coven system is designed to kill practically all of them on the Day Of Unity.
  • Big Bad: Of The Owl House.
  • Emissary from the Divine: What he believes he is, viewing his actions as him doing the will of God. He also acts like this to the people of the isles, claiming himself to be the messenger of the Titan's will. In actuality, he's neither and is merely a charlatan deluded into thinking himself a hero.
  • Gold and White Are Divine: As Belos, his robes invoke this concept.
  • He Who Fights Monsters: As Belos, he's thought to be a great wizard with limitless power, when actually he's working to exterminate all who practice magic.
  • Hiding Behind Religion: His whole belief is that he's doing this because he is doing the God's work.

     The Collector
The last member of a species that legends say killed off the Titans. Unlike the rest of them, he'd rather play some games with everyone... Well, that would be if Belos wasn't suggesting mass genocide as the game...
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Belos is seen consulting with the Collector shortly before Luz leaves, when in The Owl House proper, he didn't appear at all until the Day Of Unity.
  • King of All Cosmos: He's got the power level of a god, but also has the attitude and temperament, as well as form, of a pre-teen boy.
  • Token Good Teammate: The only truly good member of his species. Unfortunately, he's also listening to Belos.

The Velvet Room

     Philemon

Philemon

A mysterious deity who summons those chosen to the Velvet Room through his various agents, having them sign a contract with him to carry out His will upon the Earth. He manifests as a black butterfly with dark blue wings.

     Igor

Igor / Yaldabaoth

The head attendant of the Velvet Room, who handles the affairs of the various Wild Cards who enter the Velvet Room. Well, if it was Igor in the first place...
  • Big Good: He's been acting as the mentor and advisor for an unknown number of Wild Cards.
  • Trickster Mentor: His advice is intentionally vague and contradictory, with him lying by omission all the time.

     Caroline and Justine

Caroline and Justine / Lavenza

The twin attendants of the Velvet Room, as well as the correctional officers for the condemned who find themselves there. They're quite surprised when Luz appears, especially since she's not guilty of anything.

Metaverse

     Nyarlathotep

Nyarlathotep

A mysterious entity who attempts to keep Luz from awakening her full power.
