A French-American doctor with a specialisation in pain disorders, Adele's presence on Eclipse started out as the only medically-trained professional of Kiros Monroe's Rogue Society before a chance meeting with her future husband took her on a years-long journey through almost every non-heroic faction to emerge. A precise perfectionist almost to the point of OCD, her largely compassionless demeanour (and the near-depthless dark side that goes with it) is hidden beneath the well-mannered disposition of a Southern woman.
- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Check aaand double-check. After hitting adulthood, her Southern manners have largely become a façade to conceal her true personality; and the multitude of illegalities that have stemmed from it.
- Blood Magic: Adele's ability is basically this in spades. Whether her own blood or someone else's, she's able to manipulate it pretty much with impunity. She can even transform it into other bodily substances; be it caustic acid or something as harmless as water.
- Drugs Are Good: Limiting themselves to marijuana, both she and Ryan have started recreational drug use. Befitting a precise woman like Adele, she has taken steps to limit the risk by having a supplier she implicitly trusts: her own grandfather.
- Meaningful Name: Adele's maiden name - Couteau - makes complete sense given her affinity for small-form bladed weaponry.
- Although less directly, her married name carries great personal meaning; showing the depth of her connection - romantic or otherwise - with her husband Ryan.
- The Vamp: And how. To those she despises, she's violent, sadistic, uncaring and murderous. Even when love did enter her life in the form of Ryan Alcroft, she refused to have it sway her from what she felt herself to be. If anything, it only had the formerly-innocent Ryan get dragged down with her.
